Do I suck or does Loran suck?

So I bought like 30 Loran flavors the other day cause they was at a local store and cheap. I've tryed a few mixes and can't seem to get any to taste right. Also I never see Loran in many recipies...or any for that matter.. does it just suck? And yes I know I suck but that's not the point of this thread.

If Loran were the only flavoring available, I might get something vapable from it. There are much better brands available, though.
Yeah I kinda figured.. most of them just taste like alchohaul versions of flavors. Like Butterscotch taste like schnapps and the fruit flavors all taste really artificially nasty..

Make sure the loranns flavors say "flavor" not "oils". The oils don't mix properly and they are nasty to try to vape and might do lung damage. Loranns are more geared to cake and candy flavoring so some are plagued with coloring that will stain anything they touch. The several loranns I have I like the creame du menthe, amaretto and if you can get past the yellow color the banana cream is OK after a couple weeks steeping, the apple is not bad also after a couple weeks steeping. There is far better flavorings out there but I also started with loranns I found at a bargain store and changed some commercial juices I had, that was a year ago and have learned a lot since then and won't look back. 1.5% Loranns creame du menthe in a commercial tobacco juice just adds enough change to be good. I really never dabbled in loranns enough to come up with percentages to use in a mix.

If you wanna try new flavorings I'd suggest INW, FE(at ECX), VZ-SC, & Hangsen.
Well if you haven't already tried them that is.
Only have a the LA Cream Cheese Icing, but some say the Watermelon is good tho.

That was my reaction to my first mix of TFA Caramel Cappuccino. The recipe I attempted to follow said 10%. I was scared.
Just because it calls for 10% does not make it right especially if say 2% will work just as well. I see a lot of recipes way out there.

Don't forget that those first mixes just suck sometimes. Move on from one recipie to another when hitting your head against a wall.

Lol. I would not say suck. Maybe sucky'mc'suckersin to mix just all Loraine by its self...but there are a few flavors that take some people's recipies over the top.

Nah, you don't suck. Loranne flavors don't suck either.

Everybody has their own taste preferences.

Please keep in mind that Lorann's flavorings are made for food and candy, they don't nor have they ever made any claims to be good for vaping. Some of their flavors are nasty for vaping, some are very weak. They do have a few I like and use, like the cream cheese icing, cheesecake (which to me is the best tasting cheesecake of any vendor I've tried), their marshmallow is good, bavarian cream, coconut, caramel....but some of mine met the trash with very little gone from the bottles, like cherry, raspberry, a couple of others. Their fruits taste like candy because that's what they're made for. Don't give up on all of them, it's just a matter of finding a doable percentage on some.

No, they pretty much suck ....

I'm another with Cream Cheese Frosting only. When I first started (and failed) at DIY a few years ago, it was mostly with LorAnns. Ya live, ya learn and ya grow. Check Heabob's list for sage advice.

So the cheesecake actually tastes like cheesecake?

And fairly strong. It does need something to sweeten a bit, IMO. It's like biting into an actual cheesecake, homemade, not the "fluffy" type from the bakery at Walmart....lol!

Thanks for the tips guys. I don't like how most Loranns color your juice that God awful bright color. Makes me feel like it's probably super bad for vaping. But I'll just stick to my known flavors at this point I just figured for how cheap they was and locally accessible I would give them a shot. I have to say almost any other flavor I have from good vendors you can mix standalone(wich I don't do) and they taste pretty good. Loranns defiantly needs to be doctored up to be even half way vapeable. From my experience anyway.

Yeah, what she said! :)

I'd just add that I prefer the ones that don't include coloring as a lot of the Lorann offerings often do, especially if purchased locally. However, in some cases you can buy the clear version elsewhere like Wizard Labs and I believe BCV for example; no sense vaping food dye if you don't have to.

Maybe it's the missing flavor for the TFA Cheesecake Graham mixes that lack the filling part...

I like the pineapple as a pineapple additive, stand alone umm no.
Other than that I would say ya for the most part they do suck. Unless I want to make candy or flavored toothpicks.

Never been a fan of Loran. Coincidentally...

Butterscotch taste like schnapps

Butterscotch was one of the Loran flavors I kept around for homemade Buttershots.

Before vaping, most of the non-natural fruit flavors from any extract company tasted like garbage. Not sure if they've improved over the last five years, since I've been scared off of fruit-flavored anything. There were exceptions. The Jolly Rancher-type watermelon was OK from most companies.

To me, that's what Lorann's watermelon tastes like at 10-12% standalone, Jolly Ranchers. Pretty dang good.....:D

I am of the humble opinion the TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust is just that. Graham crust as one might use for cheesecake. It may be the fact that I read it a couple of times or just that I have in my mind that it is so, but that is what I taste and, as a consequence, how I have used it.

But this is a LorAnns thread so more humble apologies for the derail.

So after some persistence I finally came up with a very good recipe with the help of a buddy @bruce33, using Loranns as one of the main flavor notes.
Here it is.
FA Marshmallow 7%
FA meringue 1%
LA coconut 1%
INW biscuit 1%

A nice light coconut creamy vape with a hint of toasted marshmallow.

May try adding a little acetyl pyrazine to this mix and see if that adds a little complexity to the mix.

They probably should have just named it "Graham Crust" instead;).

Now that this has steeped some it's delicious but it's more of a coconut cookie not so much toasted marshmallow taste.

I did't have much luck with FA marshmallow in this mix. 7% FA marshmallow is way too high.

It's much better after a steep aswell imo.
That LA coconut need to mild down and lose that weird taste it always has with shake and vape.

Try cutting FA marshmallow in half if that's the only marshmallow you have and using a little less cookie. The cookie is there to support the meringue. FA meringue @ 1% and over will give more of a baked slightly toasted flavor. I have no clue what LA coconut taste like at certain %'s. FA cookie is less buttery than INW IMO. Keep in mind I tried using FA marshmallow but found CAPs to be more forgiving because using it at a higher % allows it to remain marshmallowie without losing it in the mix.
