Vtc mini and this coil?

Hey guys, just wondering if anybody who owns the vtc mini has run a .1 ohm coil. I've got this build on my royal hunter mini and if my numbers are right, steam engine says I should be ok with a mxjo rated at 35 amps. Should I give it a shot tonight? Thanks in advance yalls.

[/URL][/IMG] Excuse the one coil. Couldn't get it to fire on my Sig to pinch it. 20 ga kanthal paralled with some pre wound clapton wire. Not my type of build really just wanted to try something different.

Most likely*... SE is telling you the amps applied at the coil, which is where resistance comes into play. As in when using a mech mod. That's Ohm's Law and applies to the battery as well.

But on the VTC, like all regulated mods, the battery doesn't see the coil... there's circuitry in between. So you need the simpler Watt's Law variant... I=P/V

Wattage requested divided by battery Voltage equals Amps at the battery.
To be safe... use max watts and minimum volts (3.2v or even 3.0v for safety).
Because the draw rises as the cells drain... so that's 25A for the VTC's 75w. Max.

Bad news is... your 35A on the label is an overspec. It's really a 20A CDR battery.

Worse news is... that build looks to want every bit of power the VTC can throw.
If the batteries don't overheat... they'll deplete in a blink.

Maybe save it for a dual cell mod.


* I don't use Mechs so I just guessing that Steam Engine is set up for that, haven't checked.

20 gauge dual kanthal at 0.1 Ohm on a single 18650 mod with an inflated CDR battery does not sound like a good idea to me at all. i personally would not do it, maybe try it for a brief time for the sake of science, but contentiously vaping on that setup for extended periods of time just does not sound good.

I'm only getting the first image and I can't get a good zoom (crappy old lappy ATM).

Looks like some monster with some fat K paralleled with a Clapton.
It'd probably bring my RX to it's knees.

Probably tasty as hell... but I can hear the VTC screaming already.

I've run a 0.1 ohm coil in my Pi² on my VTC Mini, and it performed fine with my Samsung 25R, and although it will eat through your batteries quickly, it didn't overheat the mod or batteries at all (but it won't fully drain them either, as it'll cut off once the battery can't deliver the amps any longer). I think it'll take them down to about 25% before it shut's off, so it's not overly efficient, but it works just fine.

Well, for the sake of gathering data I tried it... Hot! Got too bugged out and decided to shelve it until my rx comes in. I built that deck expecting my vape mail to arrive when it was supposed to. Obviously this is my first time dealing with the slow boat from China....

Just hope some schlub bothered to log your package as it went on the boat.
Often, no movement shows until it clears customs and/or hits domestic shipping.
