In my quest for another mod, to go along with my Joyetech eVic-VTC Mini--preferably something with a bit more reserves for when I vape at somewhat higher wattages, @Hank F. Spankman brought this one to my attention:

kbox-120.jpg

Actually, what he brought to my attention is the Kanger KBox 200W TC Box Mod, but I was unable to find a page or image of that one on Kanger's site.

Various U.S. vendors, such as WetVapes, VapeNW and VaporDNA have one, the other or both in stock.

Either of them might be just what I'm looking for. Anybody have any experience with either? How have Kanger's mods been, usability-, performance- and reliability-wise, in general?

Nope. Looked at it. The iStick TC 100W shares with the Cuboid one of the latter's design flaws. Well, what I consider to be a design flaw, anyway :)

These Kangertech mods look like how I would have done it, if I had done it.

The 200w has the same case and comes in the same colors as the 120w. The only apparent difference is the max wattage.
I posted my quick impression from handling and trying the kbox 200w at a shop in another thread. I think that thread is down to page 2 now.

Bah! I looked for an existing thread before starting this one. Search failed me.

KangerTech KBox 120/200 TC

These things are concerning: "I have noticed that it doesn't do a very good job reading resistance when I switch tanks. I've had to fire the mod before putting a new tank on for it to update the ohm's." and "I'm having similar issue when changing tanks .... also having a problem with it reading one of my Crius tanks ... keeps giving me a flashing 9.99 ... take the Crius, put it on the Snowwolf and works perfect ...."

It is concerning. I'm kind of torn on whether to chance it on the kbox for the size and weight or to go for the cuboid with its consistent good reports. I'm not in a huge hurry, so I'll be w sitting to hear more from owners.

I've no interest in the Cuboid.

Maybe this: Wismec Classic 150W $49.99?

I currently have a 120w on order. I also have a 50w SUBOX, and the new Platinum 60w SUBOX. My experience with Kanger products has been very good. My Platinum has the "Ohm sense" when changing tanks, has always work flawlessly for me.(Switching between Horizon Arctic, an Arctic Turbo , and the Kanger SubTanks. SO far , so good. Will check back after I "road test" my 120W.

I have the 120 and the 200 is on its way. Great little form factor, light as hell, works great. The only con I can see is the battery life is not superb, but that is likely because I vape like cane field on fire....

Also have had no problems with it reading any of my atty's attached.

OK, my 120 came today , in red . Charged up my batteries, screwed on my Horizon Artic Turbo, and let it have it at 88watts......nice. Feels good in my hand. Waiting for the slilcone case to come. Time to experiment. Will stop back in ....

Just a note. CigaBuy had these at a great price, with a code I got at Vaping Cheap....

Bougth me three of the 200w boxes, don't see why you would buy the 120w version, as the price difference is really small. Got mine on the FT sale for about $32 each, which is a great price for 200w (yes, probably not really 200w with just 2 batteries) and ti/ni/ss TC. Also like how simple it is without escribe hassle etc. and it's pretty small.
Now the long wait with chinese newyear and shipping begins....

My opinion of Kanger and their boxes are "no thanks". They tend to be a low end product.

And as already mentioned, no 2 battery mod can safely reach 200 watts at all resistances. So the 200 watt magical threshold is a myth.

A little more of an extended report. My KBOX 120 is running fine. I have a Horizon Arctic Turbo on it, running the 0.3 Ohm coils, vaping 13th Floor Elevapors Django, 70%VG/30%PG.
Been running around 85 watts with it, nice compromise between fog and temp. Battery life is good , I can get through the day with it.
Regarding drugarth's comment, yeah , I doubt the "200" is 200, at 4 volts you're looking at 50amps plus, risky, unless you like self destructing LiIons. Flavor is very good , nice , rich , and smooth . Will have to find a set of temp control coils for it to try that option.
So far , so good !

I have the kbox 120W, and it is crazy!! Charging just flashes battery. Charging also show an exclamation mark, and voltage/watts is all over the place. It is crazy!! I thought I had a good one this time.

On mine, when the "battery" flashes, that means a full charge.... You may have bad cells... try a different pair of known good batteries. And check polarity when you put them in ....

Mine also keeps unlocking. I go to turn it off with the five clicks, and it switches to Ti mode. Then I have to cycle through all the setting to get it back to Variable Voltage mode. SOOOOOO aggravating!!! I should have ordered a eleaf 50W.

I now have the 120 and 200
Decent
Light
Easy to carry
Comfortable to hold
My go to at work
Perfect for single coil attys...like my serpent RTA .5 ohms it's flawless, I don't recommend using the USB for charging but I use it quite often, does it hit harder compare to what's available out ther?? NOPE!!
but for stealth mode VAPING it's good!!
