The new TC100w iStick is actually a nice ass mod.

Ive been enjoying mine all morning paired with a Billiw V2, have a Griffin on the way to pair with it though.

Very smooth fire bar design, much better than the XCube and Presa firing bars.
Batteries are held in very firmly and do not wiggle, the door magnets are also stout.
Finish is smooth and durable, did a scratch test on the bottom.

Quick power application, I attribute this to the parallel battery configuration reducing battery lag.
Decent menu system, basically the same as the Cuboid and RX im assuming since they have the same boards (Ive been told, unsure on the exact board in all of them)
The one minor annoyance is the way you switch Watt settings in TC mode, but Im only gonna be using it in Power and Bypass as a parallel dual 18650 mod.

Battery life has been excellent, bar is still at 3/4 after about 4hrs of moderate use.

Feels great in the hand:

yaaaaay, you received it already? :) white looks AWESOME, i love the way it looks much more than my black, i told you you would not regret it, this is one gem of a mod and it is strange that it is not getting the attention it deserves from the community ...

Ẃll i'll be damned, didn't think they would get the quality that high.
How is the performance in tc mode?

Yeah man, honestly the most comfortable mod Ive ever had. Has enough heft to be on par with the quality of the device, and the absolute best firing bar switch.

I got mine for 34.99/35.99$ shipped 2 day from https://www.vapesocietysupply.com/

BTW i am getting the Griffin in a couple of days, checked the Billow V2 as suggested, found that it does not have top-fill, that is a definite deal breaker for me, top fill is an absolute must for me, out of all the RTAs you guys suggested the Griffin wins in all departments, only thing left to decide should i get the black or stainless steel griffin? i tend to clean and tinker with my tanks a lot and if the black finish is not 200% durable it will look like shit in a month's time, so what color/finish do you suggest?

I got silver, but if I like it I'll get a black one for that storm trooperesque look

With SS it works great. Also has a TCR adjust mode, which is what I was using since Ive got 317L

Didn't cut off prematurely like the VTC Mini

Exactly my plan, i think i will get the silver and try it out and if i like it enough i will venture with the black, i just hate black tanks with finish coming off.

I love the crackling sound when I'm vaping, but since I take such small drags (2-3 seconds) most regulated mods don't ramp up quick enough to produce it. The i100 crackles like a fuckin campfire running .32oHms @ 60w

Do you happen to have a low ohm build/coil laying around like a 0.15 Ohm or something to test if it has the same 25A limit? i do not currently have such low build until i get my Griffin, but can you verify if you can screw on a low ohm build and crank the wattage all the way up to 100W with it?

shit, very disappointing news, what is the upper wattage limit you can reach with the 0.15 ohm in regulated power mode?

Thank God the chip is not getting in the way in bypass, at least we have that to resort to when more power is needed, with that build you can get 117.6W 28A in bypass, eleaf must fix this shit in an update, it is absolutely not a needed safety measure for that mod.

If next update raises this to 120W 35A in regulated mode this would be the best mod in the market.

120w and a 35a limit would make this thing the best value in vaping right now.
Its just about perfect for pre made coils or building .2 and above, its when you get into the RDA/RTAs and Clapton and LR wire do you hit the amperage limit.

Well, shit IMO this is one hell of an endorsement. I really want another duel 18650 and I'm torn between the istick, joyetech and IPV. I'm going to give it just a little time before I pick one but the istick is sounding better with every review.

Easy decision, the iStick is better than the Joyetech Cuboid in every department, so the actual question would be iStick vs. IPV5

iStick advantages, looks better, can be charged via USB safely, smaller, longer battery life, and an awesome awesome awesome fire button mechanism

IPV5 advantages, does not have the same stupid 25A limit so you can build lower with this and use dual Claptons without an issue

You do not have to wait any longer before making your decision pros and cons are very obvious depending on your application :)

In all honesty, I probably won't be waiting much longer, Valentine's Day is coming up and my wife is already poking around looking for a "surprise" gift idea.

I had a black and white one from whichever online vendor was swapping the plates. Fuck I order from so many places lol.
I traded it for a 6 bay charger locally though, so I have no way of testing it now.
IIRC I ran the .15 Goblin Mini @ 105w on it, but Ive been through a shit ton of mods lately. I'm even waiting on an IPV5 lol.

Unless you are doing some extreme builds you will be very happy with the iStick, it is so enjoyable to use.

For 35$ shipped priority its a great deal. I'm hoping to get my IPV5 Thursday though so we'll see if I like it any better.
Though honestly I love the firing bar on the i100, and don't mind building at .25-.3

Do you think the iStick will be so under-powered to run a dual Clapton build in the Griffin? even in bypass? if this is the case i think i am placing an order for an IPV5 today, it just looks so damn ugly to me i can't stand it :)

How can i calculate Clapton Heat Flux in Steam Engine? what options can i chose for that wire type to estimate how much power i will need?

22 Gauge wrapped w/ 30 Gauge w/ 7.5 wraps around 2.5mm is approx.. 0.50Ω Per Coil

So running 2 of them would make it .25oHms which at 25a is over 150w so I would say as long as your happy with pushing 100w (hopefully 120w soon) through that style of Clapton it'll be great.

I'm unsure how to calculate the heat flux using either 2 gauges or 2 gauges and 2 different composition metals

I wouldn't think it would take more than 85ish watts, but I could be wrong.

Maybe @raymo2u would have a better idea of how many watts and what Clapton would be best suited for our application.

With normal wire i calculated a build that would max this mod out

SS316L 24g Dual 8 Wraps Coils with 3mm ID comes down to 0.2 Ohm, would take exactly 100W for a 285 mW/mm² heat flux, should provide a warm vape with highly saturated cotton, and massive clouds of course.

I would be more that satisfied with this performance, and yes i would crank this mod up to 100W without any problem, it would not even get warm with that draw.

0.2 ohms, 100W, 22.36A that is 11.18A per battery, maybe a little more for the voltage boost, i would say 13A draw per battery, that would be very gentle on my VTC4s

Question is, do i really need Clapton? why would i need it? i never used it before, what advantage does it bring over normal wire?

It has wicking properties and less chance of overheating and frying your juice if you pump up your wattage. It also increases flavor as it vaporizes more juice from its surface area and the channels the juice hides in. For a .2 Ohm coils I suggest 85w-95w but thats with Kanthal/Nichrome, SS may ramp up faster and need less wattage so adjust accordingly. I would start at 75w and go up 5w until you find your perfect setting.

Im actually rocking a 22g/30g Clapton Build (.21 Ohms) myself in my VCMT right now. Its pretty good at 95w but I like my vape warmer then most people.

So you think the IStick TC100W would run that build in the Griffin or do i need to order an IPV5 for that purpose?

Also do you think the Griffin is a good choice or am i better off with a VCMT?

That Istick will do it just fine, probably could make it warmer then you would need or want.

Amazing, at least i can use a mod i enjoy using,

What about the tank? do you think i should get the Griffin or the VCMT for that build? i am very interested in your input :)

Griffin all the way, the VCMT doesnt hold as big of coils, which most would think it would holder bigger coils, but it does not (atleast not the 25mm). I find the Griffin much easier to use, wick and provides more intense flavor and better airflow, costs half as much, its also much better engineered and designed IMHO. The VCMT I like for my out and about tank as it holds more juice, if they actually release a 25mm Griffin I dont think I would even use the VCMT....

Great, one last question if you don't mind, i like the Black Griffin's looks a lot and my iStick is also black, but i do wash/clean my tank almost daily and tinker a lot with builds, building, re-building, wicking etc ... do you think the durability of the finish on the Black Griffin will be able to withstand that stress or am i better off with the Silver/Stainless Steel tank if it will keep looking good for a longer time?

I havent got a Black one in yet, all mine are in the mail still, @Hank F. Spankman and @Break-19 can answer that since they have had their's a good bit now. Geekvape has used some quality materials and machining with their gear so I doubt it will be any different but until I get one I havent a clue...
