You do the owner, the staff and the moderators a disservice with that criticism, IMO. If ECF is anything like what I've read about, here: Your assertion isn't even close to accurate. I've been on forums similar to the likes of ECF (as I've seen it described). VU is probably the most tolerant web forum in which I've ever participated, bar none, regardless of subject area.

Steve even went to far as to directly troll the mods and staff. On most other forums in which I've been a member that alone would have earned him an immediate time-out. But here on VU he got away with it.

The whole thing is, steve gets hated on for "discriminating" against people because of (insert a reason here). He degraded people.

Happens ALL the time at the VU by numerous people. You know how silly forcing people to be PC is? It just doesn't work. Read the IRONY in the posts around here. Just in this very thread, steve is denounced because he (wrongly) made jokes and quips about someone's physical disability.

There were 5 times as many degrading comments about his supposed physical appearance.

So which types or groups is it ok to degrade, make fun of, and poke at?

The "subject" of his comments didn't seem to be crying about it. Matter of fact, he fired right back at him. It just seems like people are making up excuses to blast one member. Everyone is guilty, but no one will man up and take responsibility for their own actions.

And it seems that points are "selectively" handed out. And it appears that selection depends more on how much a moderator likes someone, than the actual comment being made.

And I'm not asking you to explain who else got "points". I already know only one person got any, so I am not making a big hairy deal about it. Just making a point. If that upsets you because I singed you with a little truth, I'm sorry. My point is made.

P.S. I'm not hating on you in particular Huck. I like you. But the "moderation" around this forum needs an overhaul. It shouldn't be used to whip on people that moderators don't like. Several people have went overboard, and it wasn't just steve. As many points as steve has earned, I can think of at least two others who have acted just as "trollish" and gotten just as foul, that should be in time out. That is, if points were handed out fairly.

I "manned up" for my actions more than once. You can go back and read my post after and before he left. If the mods want to give me shots or outright ban over what I did, I won't complain and I certainly would not expect anyone to lobby on my behalf.

Calling someone a "fat ass" is acceptable but calling someone a "gimp" or limp dick isn't. Somehow, the rational doesn't register with me. Any way you cut it, it is degrading someone.
Any way you cut it, there has been selective moderation on one member.

Whose behaviour? Steve's? I saw mods and staff, several times, warn him he was on thin ice, both directly and indirectly. Or did you miss that? I also saw staff warn others. Or did you miss that?
