Hey,
Sometimes when i vape (NOT ALL THE TIME), i get a very strong stinging in the back of my throat. It's similar to a burnt hit, but im 100% sure that it isn't. The cotton is saturated, it isn't too tight in the coil and this doesn't happen with every flavor all the time. I'm using a Royal Hunter clone and it works great. My juice is a 40pg 60vg blend with 6mg nic.

I have an IPV4S, .3 ohm, circa 40 watts, bubblegum flavor, also happened with a grape flavor ( both "premium" flavors) i do not have a pg allergy. I've had 50/50 juices and they were fine

Also, I've noticed a dark "burn" or sear on the middle post of the atty. (The one that is insulated) Could this be a cause of this stinging? If so, how could i fix it?

Can you post a picture so I can see what your talking about?
I'm thinking a bad coil.

It could be cause of your problem, it would also be a reason for a "burned" flavor. However, as @Whiskey mentioned, without seeing a picture, we won't be of much help.

Still could be having a hot spot if the coils are touching the center post or the other leg from the other coil.

I checked, there aren't any hot spots and the cotton inside the coil is the same color as on the outside. The problem isn't a "burnt" taste, but rather and stinging in the back of the throat, I'm thinking it could be the nicotine but I'm not sure. I wasn't smoking before so i don't know what nicotine feels like.

Bad Nicotine would taste more like black pepper. However, since you haven't been smoking before, why don't you get liquid without Nicotine? If you have to have Nicotine, I'd rather use 3mg/ml only.
