Does anybody here make their own flavoring?

If NET's meet your definition of flavoring...then...Yes.

Sorry, forgive my ignorance, but what are NET's?

Ooopphs! Sorry.

Naturally Extracted Tobacco

Sometimes also a term used for extracting (usually via various steeping methods) flavor from items other than tobacco (coffee, tea, mint...)

It is possible to create your own flavorings but would would urge anyone to learn how to combine commercially-produced flavors, how they compliment, contrast and enhance one another prior to considering such a daunting endeavor. One who has a depth of knowledge regarding the properties and effects of the individual compounds would then be in a better position to reconsider the proposition of brewing them up in a home kitchen. :D

That said, and since nets were already mentioned, it is possible to extract fruit flavors but it's also possible to end up with stuff that'll do a body harm. Even if the extraction is harmless, straining out the non-liquid portion requires many steps and an investment in specialized equipment.

Of you venture down this path, studying (as you should) how flavorings are created, you'll discover that the vast majority of even 'natural' and 'organic' flavorings are created artificially. In a lab. Which you ain't got. When I looked into it, the realization that it was far too complex to consider, given my own limited resources and the nearly unlimited potential of using ready-made and readily available products intended (more or less) for our purpose. Flavors are built by combining molecules with different properties that compliment contrast and enhance one another (sound familiar?) in an extremely complex process requiring considerable knowledge best acquired in advance rather than by trial and error.

Still not deterred? Here's discussion started and led (loosely) by none other than the infamous AB DADA.

Whatever you decide, have fun with it!
