Please help me pick between these two, what are their pros and cons. BTW, I already have a Wismec Reuleaux DNA200, fyi.

Volcano has a limited edition red Lavabox out now that looks amazing! Might check it out.

I have both and like them both. Here's the differences the way I see it. The VT200 gets slightly better battery life, maybe a bit more ergonomic, and is thinner, making it a tad more pocket friendly.

The Lavabox has the rubber grip making it less likely to slip out of your hand. Looks better imo. Has a tinted front panel which I don't like as much for reading the screen, especially in a bright environment (a brighter display is easier for my old eyes to make out without my reading glasses grrrr, if I was still in my 20's it wouldn't matter). Volcano is located in Hawaii so if you needed to return it for warranty reasons, that is a huge plus if you're also in the USA.

I really like them both but to me those are the differences. Hope some of that is useful.

Cheers,
Steve

Agreed, I just received mine on Friday, to go along with the black one I've had since they first came out :).

PS Here's an older picture with both the VT200 and Lavabox

I plan on becoming a DNA 200 mod user exclusively and starting with the Hcigar VT 200, the next mod would be the Lavabox. It comes down to your preference. I think the Hcigar is more ergonomic and might be the best way to jump into the DNA 200 universe.

That's what I like best about the VT200, its aesthetic, I've held it and loved it. BTW, I already own a DNA200 product, the Wismec Reuleaux, so this will be my second one with a Boxer DNA200 to follow.
Sad news is, my usual shop just ran out of VT200 and won't be getting the Lavabox in.

Now my other friend is warning me now to buy an Hcigar VT 200 because he had one of the newest models and had it replaced after it suddenly stopped working and same with the replacement. I'm still getting it because I like it best and haven't heard any DNA 200 mods not have a few bad apples in a batch. So they're all a slightly riskier purchase to make. I'd rather put $120 on the line for my first choice mod of that kind than more money risked for something I don't know how I will like in my hand and stuff. It's one of the first DNA 200s so by now I hope it'll be perfected. Im still going with the $120 Silver Hcigar VT 200 from vapenw.com.

The Lavabox is $169.99 and looks too bland and the custom color grips are obnoxious at least given the options near that price point.

Yea, I probably will wait 2 weeks for my shop to have the blue VT200 again as against the red Lavabox, but who knows.

I think the worst investment would be the Vapor Shark 200

Any thought on the Boxer? Anyone?

I like the looks of it. It seems like it's well built and the company (USA company) stands behind it in case you have any issues. That all being said, it's too rich for my blood so I haven't had the pleasure of owning one. Now if my Powerball numbers would hit, I'll get us both 1 :D

Cheers,
Steve

Wow, thanks Steve, here's wishing you luck. BTW, I really like the orange one, just in case, lol.

I got one recently and the 2 amp charging will change your life. The battery life might be short but it's quick and easy to top off. It still amazes me that it takes twice as long to charge my mini volt than it does the VS.

The boxer dna133 is a nice mod.

Only con for me, the buttons feedback and tactile feeling isn't really that great compared to other dna devices I have.

Pros. This thing is really light. Weighed it around 60g on a scale, so with 2 batteries its around 160g. The after sales service from GV is also top notch. Had an issue with my screen, turn around time was 5 business days from LA to NY. I also love the form factor, short / fat / very ergonomic and pocketable (in my opinion). The boxer mods I have are my favorite by far.

Maybe off the topic, but I just picked up another Panzer DNA200, black on white this time (and the VT75!). Even my 30 mm TOBH Atty looks good sitting on it.
