Hcigar VT 133

I had two VT200's that my wife took over because one will not last her all day. I also have a Reuleaux DNA 200 that is my EDV. Since I already have batteries, I thought that I would order the VT133 and when VaporDNA ran their Leap Day sale I got one on the cheap. I just wondered if there were some users with experience on the VT133 that could let me know how they like it, what kind of battery life they are getting, etc. I like the VT200 but it won't last me all day either and carrying a couple spare 18650's with me is less of an issue than carrying two mods. I currently use my Evic Mini as my carry to work and out and about vape so the VT133 will be replacing it not the Reuleaux. I will keep the Mini for stealth operations !!

I bought the auxiliary 2 x 18650 battery compartment for my Hotcig DX200. I know it's not the same mod but it's the same chip so I figured I'd chime in. I like it for the convenience of being able to carry a spare set of 18650's if I'm going to out all day. Battery life is comparable to my other dual 18650 mods at similar settings. Works the same other than it's limited to 133 watts (not an issue for me since in TC I'm usually at 30-35 watts using SS 430). The only downside for me is it makes the mod wider and heavier than it is with the 900mah 3s lipo. Unfortunately we can't have everything :D

Cheers,
Steve.

Do you use the 430 setting on Steam Engine. I got a roll of 28g and plan to twist it. You are right, you can't have everything. I am anxious to get the VT133.

I'm using the SS 430 CSV file I downloaded from Steam Engine. I tried both the curve and a single TCR for the 430 and settled on using the curve. I really like the 430 by the way, it's all I'm using now.

Cheers,
Steve

Since we're touching on this subject, how do you configure the "other" types of wires apart from Ni200, SS316, & Ti01 on your DNA200 mods via escribe? I just got a VT200 and the latest version of escribe but got stuck after that.
PS: I just want to add Nichrome 80/20 coz I have quite some lengths of those left.
Thanks.

I've never used Nichrome but it's my understanding it's not a TC wire because it's TCR is too small, much like Kanthal's. I believe you have to run it in straight power mode. I basically just run SS 430 nowadays but I set up a Kanthal profile where I disabled TC in the general Tab in Escribe. I did that by selecting the profile I wanted to use for Kanthal (I loaded a custom Kanthal screen for the profile picture), then checked the off box under temperature. Just straight power mode, no temperature control. Don't forget to press the Upland Settings to Device tab at the top of Escribe after making changes.

To add a new TC wire you can download the TFR table from Steam Engine as a CSV file to your PC located here. Click on the drop-down box and select the material you are interested in. Then click on the DNA200 tab and finally the download TFR table as CSV tab (pay attention to where you are saving it to on your PC).

Then go to your material tab and click on the + button to add a new material. Then you would click on the un-named material you just added, then click the next button to the right of the + tab which is the open material button. Then navigate to where it (the CSV file) was saved on your PC and click on the CSV file and open. That's the way to add a curve instead of a single TCR number. Hope that wasn't confusing. That's the way I do it. It names it for you from the CSV file.

Cheers,
Steve

PS Here's a link to where you can download a ton of custom screens and themes. It's on Google drive and sometime I get a 500 error, just refresh and it will eventually load.

Wow, thanks, and since I've played around with it a bit when I got my Wismec Reuleaux DNA200 it's easy to understand what you'vw written. I've also done some doodling around with the screen picture itself. Thanks again.

Wait, what and where's the TFR Table?

Once you are on steam engine from the link in the above post, you select the wire you are interested in from the drop-down box. Then above that box you will see a DNA200 tab you want to click on. Then just under that and to the right you will see :Download TFR Table as CSV" tab. Click on it and it will download the Temperature curve to your PC as a CSV file. Hope that helps.

PS I just started a new thread on Tips to setting up a DNA200 Mod if you want to check it out.

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks for the reply, I haven't done much experimenting with the 430 but will probably spend some time this weekend and build some twisted coils and try them out.
