Rewrapping batteries.

I have a few batteries that could use a new wrap.
I don't want to order from China and wait 30+ days on the slow boat. Looking to buy 10 or so wraps of each color in blue, brown, yellow.

Where would be the best place (low prices and quick delivery) that you guys would recommend?

I second battwrap.com If I remember right they are a subdivision of illumn and ship for really cheap. I like the clear gold wraps, look good and I can write on the actual battery with a sharpie before wrapping it to identify the battery and if its a single or married.

Have to have a look then, I got a couple of 10/$1 packs from Illumn last month.

I understand there could be different qualities, thicknesses whatnot, but I haven't used them yet, so...

I've been looking for wraps as well.

This is listed on the illumn site "USA Customers: For lower price shipping, please visit battwrap.com !"

I just ordered from fatdaddyvapes, suppose to get them today. They came in an assortment of colors for pretty cheap and shipped super quick:)

I will report how they work.

Some vape shops have them kicking around. If you're a known customer, they might even float you a few.

"Lower" pricing? LOL.
I figured ten cents a pop was low enough for me.
And I doubt I'll need more than twenty for a while to come. :p

But I guess that confirms that Battwrap is their shop as well. Thanks.

I have some on the way as well. Apparently a hair dryer has enough heat to shrink them around the batt. Please let me/us know how yours turn out. Thanks DB.

(Mine are shipping from China, so I won't have pretty batts for a good while.)

I ordered 5 Meters of the stuff from ebay for a few pounds, cut to size and a few seconds with the hairdryer, and all is good.

I prefer it this way, but if you want custom patterns on your batteries, I guess pre cut is the way, I got it for budget reasons and for when batteries get a nick or tear in the wrap.

The difference as they say on site is cheaper shipping if you're in the US. Ten wraps from Illumn would run me $2.79 shipping for their cheapest. Battwrap would run $1 flat rate. Why one of their sites can ship cheaper isn't really apparent but that's the difference, if wraps are all you order.

That makes sense, thanks.
I added them to a battery order so it didn't factor in, as it were.

As to cheap shipping... if the majority of Battwraps' product is extremely light for its size (quite the opposite of batteries) then there might be USPS options not applicable to our flat pack boxes for the heavier mods, attys etc.

Shipping envelope maybe?

Yep, First Class shipping envelope when I ordered from Battwrap. No reason Illumn couldn't do the same. Just a WAG but it might be they're providing a some help for someone they know (son, daughter etc.) to get a start and make some income.

Thanks..... Am I right in assuming it's easy enough to buy the wraps, but gotta DIY because no one will do this for you? Maybe liability reasons?

I wonder if there's some sort of non Vaping typing business that does this sort of work?

Finally, how much perfection at the pos and neg ends only is too much? I was clumsy with changing batteries in my mods when starting out about 5 months ago.

Thanks,
Mike

Its pretty easy, I just use a lighter and go back and forth up and down the battery quickly and the wrap seals fast. Make sure there is enough to cover the insulator on the positive end and the negative end only needs a mm or 2 past the end.

You will want the 0.08mm wraps from RTD Vapor/FatDaddyVapes/FastTech and not the 0.06mm ones from Ilumn/Battwrap/IMR Batteries. I have PVC wraps from all six vendors and have given away the 0.06mm ones as they are noticeably less abrasion resistant.

Got tired seeing brown turds in my mod. Clear wraps from FT turned them into silver bullets

Also turned a flat top into a button top for use in a flashlight
