December morning

Last night's karaoke adventure ended up being a bust. The karaoke was cancelled because this is a college town so every bar in town had to have the big local Notre Lame playoff game on. I was rooting for IU, not the smartest move in this city but I hate football weekends around here, getting anywhere in that part of the city is a nightmare.

Tonight was much better. A nice dinner with a friend, good conversation, a walk through the plaza across the street from the park where the drone show was taking place, and the discovery of an outdoor skating rink. At which point my friend got a twinkle in her eye, informed me her hockey skates were in the car, and we went to check on prices. Damn nurse can't get over her instincts sometimes, because she glanced at my hand and decided I should not be skating. She didn't want any trips to the ER if I fell and did more damage to my thumb, especially when I told her which hospital I had to go to for Worker's Comp purposes. So the skating was put on hold.

So back to her car to warm up while we waited on the show to start. Unfortunately just as the drone show was starting her son texted her to say he was getting off work early, and currently she is driving his car. So she had to leave and missed most of it. But all in all it was a good evening. I'm trying to see if I can get a couple of videos off my phone and post them here of the drone show, it was kind of cool.

It seems the process is more complicated than it should be, my phone uses a format that Windows won't play without paying for a codec, but another Microsoft product called ClipChamp can convert it, then I have to upload it to YouTube before I can find a way to post it here, so you only get one of the videos for now, specifically picked this one for @Jimi
