Missing Delivery & No Support – Is This Normal?

Hi everyone,

I’d like to get your opinion on something.

I placed a small test order ($7 item, vape flavor concentrate) and paid $8.70 for shipping, just to try this website before making a larger purchase. The package was marked as delivered, but I never received it. It might have been placed in the wrong mailbox—I’ve already opened a case with USPS, but no response so far.

Even though it’s a small amount, the money is simply gone and the seller has shown no real interest in helping. Their response was basically that they are not responsible since they are not the carrier.

This is exactly what I was worried about when placing a test order—and unfortunately, it seems I was right.

What really bothers me is the lack of support. If this is how a $7 order is handled, what would happen if I had placed a $500 order? Should the amount even matter, or is this not the right way to handle a situation like this regardless of value?

Is this normal? Did I expect too much from the seller?

I’m not sharing the company name for now—I just want to hear your thoughts and experiences.

Thanks.

I'm sorry this happened to you. As for the seller, there's really nothing they can do unless they want to replace and ship it again. USPS, it may take some time to investigate. Size of order or of package shouldn't make a difference.
I understand what you’re saying, and I agree that USPS investigations can take time.

But I think the seller still has a role here. Even if they can’t control the carrier, they can choose how they handle the situation—whether that’s helping the customer, offering a replacement, or at least showing some level of responsibility.

That’s really where my concern is. It’s not just about the lost package, it’s about how the situation is handled.

The way they responded—saying “we are not the shipping company”—came across as unprofessional and not appropriate in my opinion. If this had been a $500 order and they showed the same attitude, that would say a lot about the kind of seller they are.

I just hope others don’t end up dealing with the same situation.

As someone that sold quite a bit on ebay, some had made claims they never got their orders. There is many reasons it could occur. Generally, the buyer initiates an investigation, and the seller cooperates.

I no longer use ebay, because of scammers that want both the product, and the money, and have no concern for the impact on the seller.

I understand that situations like that can happen, and I’m sure there are cases where sellers deal with dishonest buyers %100 .

But in my case, I’m not asking for both the product and the money—I simply didn’t receive anything.

I’ve already opened a case with USPS and I’m trying to follow the proper steps. My concern is just the lack of support from the seller during this process.

That’s really the main issue for me.

I’ve been selling on Amazon for 7 years and selling shirts on Etsy for 5 years, and I have never once responded to any of my customers or their requests in such a rude way.

From my perspective as a seller, this reflects a serious lack of professionalism and basic customer care.

I found this company lacking in ethics and basic manners.

I’ve also shared my experience on platforms like Reddi. and Google review.

My only concern is that people placing higher-value orders don’t end up in the same situation.

Hopefully, the company comes across these warnings at some point and improves how they handle their customers.

Totally understandable. If the seller just does not respond to the USPS, you will likely get default judgment. In which case, the company keeps your money, and you get yours back as well, if the item was insured.
Otherwise, it becomes just another lost item on a long list of stuff postal inspectors don't want to bother with. If it's a foreign company, you are pretty much out of luck.
Very smart move with a small test purchase. Online reviews of that company can impact them. I've left good as well as bad on some businesses, based on how well their staff handle customers.

That’s fair, and I see your point.

I’m still waiting to hear back from USPS—it’s been quite a while with no response. If I find the time after work, I’ll probably go in and speak with them directly.

Honestly, this was just a small test order—and it told me everything I needed to know. I’m done with this company.

:thanks: for your input.
