Has anyone tried twisting like 40g or higher then using that as the clapton wrap? if so how did it turn out?

I wanna start building claptons. I have a good amount of wire both kanthal and ni200. I have 22,24,& 28 gauge kanthal and 30 and 28 gauge ni200. If I want to build a Clapton can I use both kanthal and ni200? Is it ok to combine them? Like a 22 gauge kanthal and 30 gauge ni200? Or maybe even 24g...
