Sorry if I was too lazy to find this specific problem, but a quick Google search gave me nothing.

I followed two different tutorials trying to rebuild coils for our k box mini. trying to get 1.2 ohms. Using Katha A-1 24 ga. Tried 5 wraps, 0.00 reading. A 4 wrap gave me the same thing.

Without pictures or a video, has anyone ever experienced this and what I can do to rectify my situation, or a better tutorial. I saw a YouTube that used this same gage wire, which is why I bought it. Now I can't find the dang video.

ThanKS for any and all input!

Your atomizer may not be making connection. I'm not familiar with your gear other than having a full sized Subtank. The Subtanks have a bit of a reputation for faulty connection where the positive pin makes connection to the interior positive. I'd start with those two first.

Holy moly, thanks for the replies!

Sorry if the pic isn't what you need to see, I'm way too new at this. I'm not a perfectionist, so maybe that's something that is making this a deal breaker. The seal isn't perfectly tight. I feel like the wire may be too thick?

By no means am I a pro, especially at that kind, but doesn't the wire need to be clipped closer to the insulator?

Unless you have a break in the coil it most likely not the coil itself...Im thinking the issue is the tank is not making proper contact to the battery device you have.

Question 1: what battery devoce are you using?

Question 2: Does it have an adjustable 510 connection?..Answering one can almost answer number 2.

If the coil was shorting it would say "check atomizer" or "short"...reading 0.00 however means you have zero contact.

Its possible the coil isnt being screwed down far enough because of a wire hanging it up however.:p

Trimming the wire gave me a .14, which is a vast improvement. Thanks! I have more work to do, clearly.

Sidebar...is there a ohm reader device that doesn't require you to take your device apart for? where you can directly screw the coil into?

Mike, I appreciaten the help. However, I am a complete idiot aND have the stock battery in. Picture attached. Sorry if you mean something else!

This is similar to the kind I have. I bought mine from Discount Vapers. Lots of places sell them. Like in this pic, you can screw your tank/dripper directly on it.

If you ever plan to build tc builds you'd be well to just buy one from USA ohm meters - $25 and well worth it for the accuracy.

es, it's shorting out! You should hardly be able to see that wire.
Agreed, I'd guess when your atomizer is screwed down you're creating a path from + pole to - pole with less resistance than the coil. If you bend the wire over in the slot and cut it real close short you're likely to fix your problem.

Use nail clippers to trim the excess, you should be able to run your finger across there and not feel it protruding. Double check that the coil itself is centered and not touching the wall of the case as well that the leg that goes to the center pin doesn't. 24 gauge is not a good choice for a 1.2 ohm coil. That 5 wrap - assuming a 3mm diameter - will get you around .5 ohms. For a better idea of what to expect with different wire, diameter and wraps look here - http://www.steam-engine.org/coil.asp

Went with a 30 ga and tighter wind, and I now have a functioning coiil! It's at 1.4 ohms but I don't care...progress! Thank you to everyone who gave me input and advice!
