is 100 watts on a regulated device the same as 100 watts on a mech? according to ohm calculator if im vaping with a mech mod at .16 ohms on a fresh 4.2v battery I'm vaping at 110 watts. If I had a regulated box mod at 100 watts would it feel the same?

you would have to be using a true 30a output battery, or a box mod that allowed a full 30a output.

Watts are watts. Provided the regulated devices' settings are accurate and it can actually produce 100 watts, the only difference should be that the regulated device will hold that output for as long as it can boost the output to that level and the mech will gradually drop off with progressive voltage drop.

the dna30 chip for example, only actually allows for 10a output...so it would not feel the same as the mech mod, but would register watts as high as 30w

Using an Ohms law calculator, for 100w on 4.2v you can get a .1764 ohm resistance with a 23.81amp output.
You will definitely be getting some big clouds, not saying you wont, watts are watts like lefty said, it just does the math a little different than it reads on screen.
