Jumping ahead even further in the timeline, this week's 11.22.63 opened on a decidedly unsettling note, as we watched Oswald assemble his rifle as fast as possible, followed by Marina taking his iconic photo in the backyard. Much like "Other Voices, Other Rooms," "The Eyes of Texas" was keen on furthering Jake's investigation of the Oswald family and George de Mohrenschildt, though it wasn't quite as revelatory as last week. Regardless, Jake's personal storyline here was interesting, if also a little frustrating in spots.
For example, Jake's romance with Sadie hit a few sizable snags this week, one of which featured Ms. Mimi confronting Jake about his true identity. That said, this was one of the low points of the episode and felt unnecessary. Not only did Jake's "witness protection" story come off as deceitful (I mean, if freaking Bill can handle the truth, so could Ms. Mimi), but it seemed to have no repercussions whatsoever. The only relevant thing about it was it convinced Jake to tell Sadie the truth about himself.
