Warning: Full spoilers for the episode follow.
What a terrific hour of television that was! Fun, sad, enlightening, confounding, "Bodies of Water" had a little bit of everything and the combination of clever dialogue and nifty visuals helped make this not just the best episode of Season 2 so far, but right up there with the strongest episodes of the series.
We got not one, not two, but three visits to the Witness. The images of the Witness speaking through writing on the wall were very cool, and also intriguing. Why communicate this way? The Witness wears a mask and perhaps they can't speak? This would fit with the catastrophic injuries Aaron Marker suffered when he presumably died in a fire but I wonder if it could be more in line with the "newspaper trick" that our heroes have been using to communicate across time. Who knows when the Witness actually is? And for the record, I would be totally down with the Witness just being a magic, self-aware house.
