Will the Kay fun lite handle 22 ga kanthal? Don't want to break it.

22 seems too low for a kayfun, what resistance are you aiming for?

For 0.5 i would go for 24AWG but 0.5 seems too low for a kayfun.

Stick to 28 gauge or even 30 on the Kayfun's , they do not like lower ohm builds and also don't like high ohm builds , the vast majority of knowledgeable vapors say 1.2-1.8 are the Kayfun's sweet spot.

It doesn't mean they don't work with different builds but that range seems to be the overwhelming choice for them by everything i have ever read , my usage and by talking to many different people who know a lot more than i do..

Yep, I haven't used one in a while but I still maintain my wife's and they are best at 1.2 to 1.4 with 29g on a vv/vw.

90% of my builds are on 28 gauge, Kayfun and Russins included.

Kayfun airflow is too tight and e-liquid flow is too slow, it can't really handle sub ohm properly.

Very good point , makes a lot of sense.

I run 1.0 ohm 26g coil in my Russian that hits very well on the provari..I also run a .7 ohm 26g coil on the kayfun on my mech that also hits well..any heavier gauge wire us hard for me to get under those tiny screws..lol

Not saying you can't but you should not.
The plastic will not hold up well for sub ohm let alone the build deck is not really able to handle the size of a 22 ga coil to get it to .5.

I thought the same thing lol, thats mighty thick wire for a Kayfun deck .

24-26 and you are pushing the captive area of the screws. but at the heat level I would be more worried of vaping and inhaling melted plastic and causing a dead short.
