Disney has reportedly tapped 28 Weeks Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo to helm The Sword in the Stone live-action remake.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fresnadillo is currently in talks with Disney to take on the project, which would be a reimagining of the 1963 animated classic. A release date for the remake has not been set yet.
Game of Thrones writer-producer Bryan Cogman reportedly wrote the script, with Brigham Taylor (The Jungle Book) producing. The original movie's story follows the magician Merlin mentoring a young King Arthur, and it is the last film released by Disney before Walt Disney's death.
