Hello,

I made a dual fused clapton build and comes in at .12ohm. The mod I am using is the Joyetech Cuboid, which I am using dual Samsung INR 25R cells.

I've never built something so low, and the amps it is draining at 60w, is 23.5 amps.

Is this safe for use? or should I build something with higher resistance?

Thank you.

If the mod is capable of still firing the build, you should be good to go. The Cuboid is a regulated mod, so it won't let you fire a build that your batteries/mod can't take (the safety protection features kick in). You may find that at some point the mod may stop firing the build, even when the batteries aren't fully dead, and that's because the Amp draw is too high for the remaining power in the batteries to supply the set Wattage. The spec sheet says it can fire down to 0.1ohm, so with what you're saying, you shouldn't have any issues. I run 0.1ohm build on my X-Cube2 at 100W with no issues, so I don't see why you shouldn't be able to run yours. Some other members with more experience with this mod may be able to chime in and give you more info.

The cuboid is actually overly safe with restrictive programming that'll cut you off at 25amps.

So, it'll protect you, but regardless the 25rs are solid batteries, and while going over the CD is a bad idea so you would want to stay under 20amps the 25rs are the safest battery to break that rule. They run cooler than most any other batteries, so I wouldn't worry at all. It's even been said that 25rs are actually 25amp cells but simply labeled 20amp to promote even more safety. So 25rs + cuboid, well that combo simply won't allow you to get dangerous. And because it maxes at 25amps you'll be cut off at 75w with that coil.

Thank you guys for the replies!

I thought since the batteries were rated at 20amps cont discharge rate so I was wondering if it was a ticking time bomb with continued use at 23amps.

So i guess the only way to use such .1 ohm builds and under can only be done with parallel mods. Are there any parallel regulated mods?

Basically, No, regulated mods use series and computer chips that will make it safe for you or cut you off before you go unsafe. Again with 25rs you're solid, don't worry, just don't try to go super subohm (below .01Ω) and you should be good. I know subohm is nice but there's a point you shouldn't cross. It's like drinking, sure a few drinks feel nice, but after a few dozen how well do you feel in the morning?
