306 atomizer (510)

My plans are to use a 306 atomizer (510) for tasting e-juice. Not sure what type of battery to purchase. Recommendations? Thanks in advance for your assistance!

510's and 306's are different atomizers. You can throw those on anything. They work great on regulated devices like Vamo's or if you want something a bit more mild a standard mech mod (or even a ego) will do just fine. The lowest you will find for those are 1.5ohm resistance and most are 2.0ohm and up so you don't have to worry about crazy amp draw. I use to use AW IMR batteries for this type of application. Pretty much any reliable IMR battery will hold up fine to those.

Thanks Dhim! Which ego battery would you recommend? The 306 atomizer I purchased is a 1.5 Omhs.

I would suggest one of the variable voltage eGo Twist variants. That way, you can tailor it to you liking. :)

IDK off hand if they can use a 306 without a 306 to 510 adapter?

Madvapes should have some of those, if not, Empire Mods would.

This or actually I've been using this battery from @DBCigs that honestly I've been digging. It's pretty much a 1100mah ego battery with a USB passthrough. If you're using it to test on a 1.5ohm coil 4.2v might be enough and you can keep it connected to a USB port and not think about charging. It's $22.50 with the USB cable to charge. Link

Depends what you want. Do you want a full sized mod, VV, or just something to quickly test. If you choose the Ego or the one I mentioned just be careful as 306's can get a little leaky so drip lightly and always burn the wick clean.

No adapter needed either. A 306 atty has same threading as a 510 atty. The only real difference between the two is a 306 has an exposed bridge and the 510 bridge is inside the atty shell.

CaFF- definitely looking for simple right now. Brand new to vaping so much to learn! Currently using MVP V2, but will graduate to mod's. Thanks again for everyone's help -- us newbies appreciate it!

You bet...all of us started out about the same: new to vaping. :)

FWIW, your MVP2 is a nice bit of kit and is, in fact, considered a "mod". ;)

Actually there is no reason you can't use them on your MVP.

Unless you just want to try something a bit different?

Which is just fine of course but it is a know symptom of Shinyitus:D

As I research batteries, I keep seeing different mAh ratings. What do the different ratings mean (I.e. 1500 mAh vice 900 mAh)? Importance to someone wanting to buy a battery? THANKS!

Miliamp hours. Essentially in the most basic way to describe it, battery life and capacity. 1500mah iwould get you more battery life than 900 given the same atomizers and voltage.

Wow, i had no idea that 306s and 510s had the same threading. Learn something new every day!

They are almost the same atomizer except with the 306 having the exposed bridge / wick. I actually think they have better flavor, but 510's took over in popularity because the 306 cartridges were really really crappy. The 510 carts in comparison were much better (still crap though). Once we all started dripping 306's got a little more popular again.

I use my Vamo and egos with mine. I save the drippers for my mechs but those babies (306 or 510) are a great way to test juice. no rebuilding between juices....

mAh = Milliamp Hours.

A unit for measuring electric power over time. mAh is commonly used to describe the total amount of energy a battery can store at one time.

A battery rated for more mAh will power a device for a longer amount of time, given the same usage pattern. The trade-off is that batteries with more mAh are generally also physically larger and heavier.

Yeah, I really find it interesting how things evolved over just the past few years. Before the advent of decent Tank Style devices people used 306's as dripping devices as most tanks just sucked. Then the tanks got better and dripping lost favor. Now it seems we have come almost full circle and are back to dripping, albeit for different reasons, almost as if its a new thing. Gotta love it.

I use 306 the best two I have found are the roar extreme 306 or the Cisco spec lr bridgeless 306. I have used an MVP a segelei legend and a provari on them but I hear DNA devices work well with them too

The Joye 306's weren't too good for me they just didn't last long as an all day vape I might get 2 weeks out of them but the roar extremes and the cisco specs I got 3 plus months

I meant for just tasting juice, rather than vaping them all day. I agree they aren't that great.
