Just finished going through about 30 pages of Mechs on FT ( the remaining 20 are just discontinued products) and here are the main 4 that caught my eye. Of course there are others like the Cherry bomber clones and the strange hammer mods too which are more common but these are the ones that piqued my intrest. Thought it might intrest you guys.

1) Steam punk mech
2) King style mech
3) Smowell Explorer Mechanical Mod
4) 9 sons of the Dragon collection. (Part of a bigger set?)

My mouth watered at the Smowell. I must ponder my current economic status as a poor college student and see what i can do to afford one :/. The Dragons collection is definitely only for rich collectors ;) What do you think about these?

I suggest avoiding tubes that have a non recessed bottom button. Having to mess with a locking ring every time you want to set it down or put it in a pocket gets old REAL fast. Recessed buttons only for me. If you have hybrid compatible atty's, consider a SMPL clone.

I have a King style mech, not something I'd recommend. Not saying it's bad, I actually like it, but the button is pretty "meh" and there's just a lot of better options out there.

True. It is one of the highest rated mechs on FT

None of the above. But I voted steam punk for the button and it's brass.

Unique isn't it? I have seen some hand crafted steam punks go for $200-$300

The Steam Punk, although not very practical, is a lot of fun. Cool toy to have, especially when you get them dialed in.
