Those look really cool. Never would have thought of mounting them on a storage box. I would make further comments about it but Don is never getting out of the corner if I do.

I really like them. Even just to hold an extra tank that isn't on a mod. It would be neat if the storage part had little compartments. Very creative of you.

I would be happy to make them for my new vape family. If you really like them I could put some in the PIF box. If anyone has some broken down batteries with the Ego 510 connector laying around or some decorative flares from tanks let me know I will purchase them from you. I could just order them from eBay but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I could modify them to anyway people like to use them.
I have some ego batteries and probably some beauty rings too. When I started here that's what I had... lol how do you make the groove under the connector...router? Or do you hand carve that?

You just use a drill w/ bit to make the hole it should be tight. There lip on the bottom of the 510 that will stop it from coming thru the hole you drilled.
The lip I was referring to runs around the bottom (right where my thumb is)
This is a better picture the screw driver is just on top of the lip that holds it in place. The 510 connector goes up from underneath the cover and the lip stops it from going all the way thru. The decorative cap is screwed down holding the whole thing in place so it doesn't spin.
That is how it is assembled. It works like a charm and will not spin once installed... Hope that helps you!

That's just awesome... Very nice looking. They have some very cool cigar boxes on fleabay. May have to look into local places for cigar vendors, might be able to score a cool one with drawers. Or maybe an old jewelry box too lol I love repurposing lost treasures.

Everything I do is simple enough but has that wonderful homemade feel. I recycle a lot of my vape stuff for just these purposes. Thrift stores are great for finding projects. It is funny but when I look at stuff the first thing I think is how can I modify this to use for my vaping!

I don't have all the tools to be considered a official DYI (er) but I like to tinker with things and get a ton of satisfaction when the projects are complete. I modified a cell phone charging station. It also charges my Istick when not in use and offers storage. I paid $2.50 at a local thrift store!
