Last week DC Comics drew back the curtain on the "DC Rebirth" relaunch. Starting in June, the publisher will replace their current lineup with 32 new ongoing series. The goal is to provide readers a fresh starting point for the DCU and blend the best of the New 52 with the classic DC Universe.
It all sounds promising, but this isn't the first time DC has announced an ambitious relaunch aimed at re-energizing their comic book universe. Join us as we break down the five things Rebirth needs to accomplish if it's going to give DC the boost it needs this summer.
We love seeing books that can build on past stories in meaningful ways, add new wrinkles to familiar characters and generally treat the DCU like a living, breathing place. That's always been a particular strength of Geoff Johns' work, especially Green Lantern: Rebirth and The Flash: Rebirth, and it's why we're glad to see Johns at the forefront of this relaunch.
