I don't have any extensive knowledge or a lot of actual hands-on use, but I know the 2 main differences are the resistance firing range and the actual physical size. The CM has a smaller footprint and has a nicer finish IMO (not a fan of the glossy look) but a higher firing limit (only down to 0.2 ohm). The GV has a footprint almost twice the size, has the glossy fingerprint magnet finish, but will fire lower (down to 0.1 ohm). I've used the CM and it works great, reads accurately, and just feels nice to use, but I've only seen the GV model, never used, so I have no input on its accuracy or reliability. All in all, the CM Tab is a great product, and at $40, a must have tool for both beginner and advanced builders (If you're gonna have an ohm meter, why not an ohm meter that can dry fire coils too

Ditto. I much prefer the smaller footprint and matte finish of the Coil Master. It's the finish that really kills the Geek Vape for me. I never build very low so the slight ohm firing difference doesn't affect me.

Cool, thanks for the input. I didn't realize the the CoilMaster only fires down to 0.20Ω. I was leaning towards it, but that's a deal breaker for be. I definitely need the 0.10Ω firing ability of the GeekVape.

See, I'd love a cross between the two. I prefer the aesthetics and footprint of the GV. And the obvious dealbreaker (for me) of the ability to fire down to 0.10Ω. But I like the build height of the CM. And also, the CM has the volt meter which, while not necessary, is an excellent addition for battery testing. The CM battery can also be charged vis USB, which is another thoughtful convenience.
Because these are both powered by a single 18650 battery, it might not be good for the battery to fire below 0.2 ohms. A 0.1 ohm build at 4 volts is 160 watts (40 amps). A 0.15 ohm build is 106 watts. I'd fire those on a dual battery mod. That much amp draw can be pretty brutal on a single battery. A dual 18650 battery TAB would be sweet for very low ohm vapers.
I see in DJLsb's latest video he fires a 0.16 & 0.14 ohm coil on his Coil Master tab.
He isn't the only guy to do this. JK Andy also fired a 0.14 ohm coil on the CM (HERE).
If the fire limit isn't 0.2 ohms I wonder what the real fire limit is?
The Geek Vape may still fire slightly lower coils than the Coil Master. I was just surprised to see that it fired as low as it did. So many reviewers clearly stated that it didn't fire below .2 ohms. Guess you never know until you try.
