I did forget, so I got the gift of a free hour this morning.

That was after a weird dream I had that the regular players in this music game thread were going to a summer daytime concert together. What bands were playing, never knew. Apparently it was in my town because I was getting dressed at home.

A big van came to pick me up. I was ready, except I couldn't find my hat I wanted to wear so I wouldn't get a sunburn. Snap came inside to help me find it, but time was getting away. In real life I would grab any one of bunches of hats sitting around on shelves, on my dresser, in the closet, but dreams are weird that way. Finally I found one, but time was up, and the van was pulling down the street. Jimi was driving, but all I ever saw was the back of his head. We stood there and waved and yelled at him to come back. He did, but the passenger door handles on the van were too high to reach.

Then I woke up. Dreams are so weird, you have to wonder sometimes. Maybe after this life we'll all get together and go to a concert.
If so, I promise not to let Jimi drive the van.

Haha, well dreams can't be fully explained but if I were to try, in fairness I would say Jimi waited as long as he could before resuming his responsibility to get everybody else to the concert on time.

A dream like that has more significance than one powered by some memory from the past, or a concern or fear you always have. I enjoy this thread very much. People who used to be my regular music friends, that I went to concerts and events with, are either left behind in Dallas, or here in SA I don't see them anymore. Fellow players in this thread, I know only a little, but we share an interest which for me is deeply important, but we never encounter each other except in writing.

All in all, it was a good dream, and this is a good Sunday, and life is good.

Hope so for you too.

I just listened to a podcast about the spiritual danger of celebrating Halloween, which inspired me to write too much (as usual).

I don't believe Halloween opens doors to evil. I believe the celebrations acknowledge that death exists, that evil exists, and we make fun and festivity of it because we know those things are scary but we're strong, healthy, optimistic, and we have faith (religious faith or faith in ourselves and in humanity).

We all are skeletons walking around in flesh suits, waiting for that final nap in the earthly realm. Death of the summer tumble of green leaves and abundant food crops is followed by a cold weather harvest of pumpkins, citrus, avocados and nuts because the earth does not die. Vampires are always after our energies and the abundance we experience, whether they be insects, rats or insecure human creatures who look to us to stoke them, so we laugh at them and let ourselves soak up the atmosphere of fear in scary movies, just so that at the end we can say there is no threat here, no bite marks on my neck.

One of the traditions of Halloween is that the veil between the living and the dead thins at that time, so we may receive visitation from fallen loved ones. Many years ago I closely studied the Mexican Day of the Dead because those festivities were always strong here in San Antonio (Texas was Mexico before it was part of the USA). People literally had parties at the cemeteries, with food and drink for their dearly departed. I started to practice the dumb supper, in which you put out foods your departed loved ones enjoyed, hot coffee to entice them with the aroma, and coins to pay their passage across from the beyond. Strange things have always happened, not during the dumb supper but afterwards. One time a hard rain was coming down when there was a knock at the door. Thinking it was maybe a late trick-or-treater, I opened the door to see my dead uncle standing there. He told me he needed a ride. I said I could call him a taxi. It was a little scary, I won't lie. He looked at the screen door handle, so I discreetly latched it. He said he didn't have money for a taxi, and needed a ride. I said I was sorry, and he began to back away, then vaporized. Later that night as I slept I was shaken awake. That same dead uncle was pressing on my arms to wake me, and he smiled at me, just as if to say "you did put out the dumb supper, and I'm here for you".

Another time I received a phone call from my departed mother. I said "Mom? How are you? What's it like where you are?" She said "No two days are alike here".

And I've never gotten possessed by a demon because of it, never levitated or vomited pea soup. I'm curious lately about new theories that consciousness is outside of ourselves, and there are always strains of thought just hanging on the vibrational waves all around us. I'm sorry for those who live in fear and don't let their kids participate in Halloween.

Mr. Mister

(you knew I'd post this eh? ;P)

I told the story in this thread, of something that happened at this year's Halloween party I attended on the Saturday before Halloween. A guest came through the back gate and walked softly across the yard to the patio. He was dressed all in black, with black cape and top hat, as the voodoo lord of death, "Baron Samedi". The dog started to growl and kept growling as this spooky black clad figure, framed by a black night sky, approached.

The point of re-telling it now is to say that the dog's name is "Mister Sir".

🤣😆😂

I wouldn't leave you behind, it wouldn't be the same, if I win that lottery we'll make that dream come true with the exception of me drivin :giggle:

Sounds like a beautiful thing...except animals can sense negative energy as danger...we can too, if trained...

I also own a black cape and cowl....'cuz reasons...

Tiki, old wise cat that she was, was my spiritual defender and guide....so strong.
Milly is learning...but she's young yet. She's so powerful though...I've never known a cat as physically strong as her. When her mind becomes more mature and wise, she'll be a force of nature.

I met a large and beautiful black Labrador dog in the bar last night, he was thirsty..so i got him water.
He wanted to be with me rather than his owner after that...LOL

Owner wasn't bad looking either. ;)
But, l I'm better with animals than humans I'm afraid.
