I would really like to know the meaning behind the title of this song. What is the guy singing about?
A lot of different things are running through this mind of mine, lol.
So, once I know, I'll be able to poke the appropriate Reaction.

I believe it is about pedophilia in the institutional Catholic church. The CD came out in 2006, which was late in the worldwide scandal, but there weren't many consequences for the offenders.

Lyrics translated:

Between the presbytery and the sanctified incense
A few drops on the ground scent the evening
It's dinner time for the choirboys
It's time to sing how great the Lord is
We must remind them that it's better to kneel
Don't trust taste and smell

So sleep, bathers, sleep!
Close your pretty eyes
That's the price you pay
For me to be happy
Sleep
Sleep

What a strange prayer the children say
The host tastes bitter and gives us heartburn
Secret confessional for the honor of salvation
Professional secrecy for the sake of... (shhh!)
Say nothing lest the Lord be angry
And don't trust the disturbance, the pain

On a choral background, where it hurts
There's no need to cry, just get used to the idea
That we confrères have our little miseries
And we've got to help each other out
We're poor fishermen and when the hook bites
We must submit to temptation

Between the presbytery and the sanctified incense
A few drops scent the evening
--(end)

He has an interview on YouTube, in which he says there are powerful people in the world who do horrible things, without fear, without conscience.

One of my old clients, a lawyer, defended some of the priests as their legal counsel. He ended up on the bottle, and had to have two courses of rehab over a few years. Couldn't handle it. He's okay now, but doesn't do that particular work anymore.

It reminds me of another time a couple of years ago when you were discomfited by a song I posted, a song about children and drugs. It was by the Evil Mothers (1990's San Antonio). It was about how easy it is for kids to get very harmful drugs because schools make them go and get them prescribed for attention deficits, depression, aggression, whatever, non-medical school personnel insisting they need them, whether amphetamines or opioids, or else they will send child protective services to harass the parents. It still goes on today.

One of the neighbour guys thought it was a brilliant idea to flick a Bic to check the petroleum level in a tank of a motorbike , lol
He caught a break and it didn't go :bomb: 🤯

I guess it's going to happen to some percentage of the population until they learn the hard way. When I started smoking, whenever I was home on a break from college, I sneaked cigarettes in my parents' bedroom when they were out. I figured they wouldn't detect an unusual smell, since they smoked. My dad kept bullets in a big brass ashtray. I didn't think much about it. I don't think I really knew what they were. I used that ashtray. Lucky I didn't blow up the house.

It was a whooping -16 this morning. Nothing compared to up North in the minus 30s. So, I'll gladly take the minus 16 :)

Yep, we had about 1.5 inches of snow and sleet here in SA, and yes, freeway drivers were sliding into each other. I don't think anybody was killed or even hospitalized. Now it's in the 40's and the sun is out, so it has mostly melted off, except where it's shady.
