This was such a beautiful song as first recorded by Nat King Cole, but it isn't much known that the song was written by Eden Ahbez, who lived an extraordinary life on the move, living outdoors with his family, foraging for food. He may have been somewhat mentally disturbed, having been given up as a child by his poverty stricken parents, but mentally disturbed is simply too judgmental a term, to my thinking, for a genius like this. He recorded his own CD later in his life, "Eden's Island", on which a re-release included "Nature Boy", but as an instrumental. I like it best with the enchanting lyrics.
