How you doin today Goph?
Doing well my friend! Going to a pot luck at church tonight for our priest's 66th birthday. We have to do it outside as our church hall collapsed a couple of years ago and we haven't got it replaced yet. Fortunately the weather is being nice as the high temp is predicted at 88 and should be less by 6PM.

Hi Snap how you doin on this fine day? How's your garden commin along?
It was pouring rain here for a while, then the sun came out and it is a muggy 88F.
My veggies are growing, some peppers started and some tomatoes, gave my son some cucumbers.
I have been mainly working on my flower gardens- planted some new hydrangeas out front, took out a huge bush in the back garden and planted some Black Eyed Susans. Now I am digging out all the plants next to the back garage(boathouse) I bought some Fire and Ice Hydrangeas to put there instead. The deer have made a mess out of that garden. I will transfer all the daylilies to inside the pool fence, away from the deer.
I want to buy some pontentilla to put in front of the garage, I want tons of flowers and the deer won't eat any of these( I hope), lol!
How are you and Jean doing, I hope Jean is doing better!

I love to go to the church pot lucks, so many different foods made from recipes that you don't usually get, I can't eat many of the things but still have fun, and the friendly people :)

Glad you garden is startin to put out some tasty veggies, wont be long and you'll be burried in veggies.
I love your flower gardens, they are always so beautiful, can't wait to see the all changes. We get deer here testin all the veggies from time to time to chow down on my garden so go a couple motion sensor led lights that are battery operated so we could put them just where we wanted, when my beans come up it will get it's test to see if it scares them away, deer love beans.

Well kinda back and forth, she says she feels sick all the time and is in a lot of pain. Since the opiate crises each drug store here only gets so many pain pills a month, if you fill your script towards the end of the month you might not get them till next month or you have to call your doctor and get a new script called in. Jean only gets a script for one week at a time so every week she hasta go through this. Well this week of coarse they were out and so was the other pharmacies here so I had to take her to another town to get her one week worth of pain pills, crazy, so while in that town we stopped and seen a friend for a visit.

Just crazy that if you are in serious pain they jack you around like that. Thank you for askin my dear friend

Ok, help me down off my soapbox and hand me my cane:giggle:

I'm so sorry for this persistent dark cloud over your lives. This is the hard work of love you are doing. It's easy to be in love when everybody is young and elastic, when all the leaves are green. It takes commitment to keep that vow, "in sickness and in health".

“Come grow old with me. The best is yet to be, the last of life, for which the first was made. Our times are in his hand who saith, 'A whole I planned, youth shows but half; Trust God: See all, nor be afraid!”

And how are you doin today my dear friend?

Thank you Jimi, I'm doing great. Busy with work from early morning to late evening, and grateful to be, but looking forward to the weekend.

I'll ask how you are. I know you've got things to worry about, and your garden to bring you work, distraction and joy. The bunnies and the chipmunk are lucky you're the farmer, since you respect them and let them live, but I get mad about those bugs eating your cucumbers. I wish I knew the natural deterrent, but I've never tried to grow cukes. For tomatoes I relied on companion planting, with basil and thyme between the tomato plants, and then the beneficial wasps would come and eat the aphids. I don't even know which bugs like to eat cucumbers.

Jimi you're playing a very brisk game and I'm enjoying it so much, but I guess I'd better say nite nite. I have to clean up the kitchen and start the dishwasher before I can sleep.

Hope to catch up with you & the other players over the weekend.
