We got some very unusual rain here yesterday. Thunderstorm from the hurricane. I can't remember the last time we had rain in August here in the central valley. We even had a tornado warning, but nothing came from it.

I put up some pics in the garden thread of my meager garden.

I got a lot done, working at my desk, cleaning up this place. Some days feel more productive than others.

I keep forgetting to pick up some zucchini. I want to try your little zuke pizzas. Zucchini gets a much richer, deeper flavor when oven roasted with a little oil. You can make something almost like oven potato chips with the little discs thinly cut.

I have never tried them made like chips but sure will try them, than k you.

Better if you salt and sweat them first, then you have to be patient while they brown in the oven until crispy. It's been a while since I did that, maybe 10 years, after seeing it on a TV cooking show, but I do remember they were delicious.

Lately I'm totally addicted to brussel sprouts. Now I want to try that suggestion I hinted at, maple syrup and pecans. Just a drizzle of syrup when they're hot out of the oven, so it melts and distributes, and isn't a syrupy coating, then sprinkling on the pecans. I haven't tried that yet. But I have to get more sprouts first.

MMM that sounds good, sprouts and maple with pecan, great flavor combo.

After heavy cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, all that, I need a shower before someone calls animal control on me due to the smell emanating from this body.

I'll play one more round, enjoying the company here.
