As soon as I saw this pic I had to go hunting for a recipe because those are so cute! Not that I'll probably ever try to make them, but this recipe is egg free (except for the royal icing, which is by no means mandatory), so Jimi could probaby even adapt it using almond flour and maple syrup. The flavonoids in the spices are good antioxidants for everybody.

Those do look cute, glued together with icing

Good afternoon Family
I hope everyone is havin a great Sunday:)

May be an image of 3 people and text that says 'THEIR MUSIC LIVES ON_ THROUGH FANS LIKEU'

May be an image of text that says 'And if you go chasing rabbits And you know you're re going to fall Tell 'em a hookah-smoking smoking caterpillar Has given you the call Call Alice When she was just small dew'

Yah, but there are other ways to glue them without using the eggy royal icing.
I am just not that good of a cook, any suggestions?

Blue eyes cryin in the rain

I just saw a movie with Willie, "The redheaded stranger), he was a preacher set in the old west and he sang this song.
Very good movie if you ever get to watch it

I'll try to see that. I started watching "Intolerance", a DW Griffiths silent film, one of the earliest American movies, going back and forth between biblical and modern times. It was interesting but I had to abandon halfway through. I'll go back to it eventually, but being a silent film with subtitles, you have to keep your eyes glued on it. You can't do anything else. Interesting artistic effects on the version I was watching, under "free for me" on Amazon Prime. Some of the scenes were sepia (the original film tone I guess?), some of them blue-ish, some of them orangey or pink-ish.

Anyway, next song:

Afro Blue

I could put it on a continuous loop and be hypnotized by that rhythm all day.

For the icing and glue? The organic powdered peanut butter, after being mixed with water, turns to concrete after sitting out, so that would work. Maple syrup can be found evaporated into pure organic maple sugar. That could be dissolved with other ingredients to make the glue. There is even an organic "powdered" maple sugar. Almond paste (marzipan) can be found pure and sugar free, which is used to make decorations and little shaped candies, and would easily work as the caulk, and being closer to pure white in color, would work for the curlicue decorations on the cookies, but in a cursory search I didn't find any organic marzipan. You could make your own though, from organic almonds.

If you're like me, you might not ever make and assemble the little houses, but I might consider the eggless spicy dough and just make flat cookies as treats when friends or family are coming for a holiday. Maybe... My sweets approach, as you have seen, is using the box mix plus can of fruit, just mix the two together and bake. I take pride in my kitchen creativity, but baking is just a fantasy for me. I like looking at the pics and getting ideas.

I would credit the above pic to the vegan blogspot I screenshot it from a few years ago, but I don't remember which blog it was.

Never heard that before. What an extraordinary song/poem/story.
Love Cat Stevens- His were some of the 1st records I ever bought, I was learning to play guitar and many of the songs were songs from his albums. Yes The Boy With The Moon and Star on his Head is one of my favorite Cat songs, beautiful voice, beautiful words and beautiful music.
I am not always about the metal and hard rock hair bands- well most of the time I am, but still love Cat Stevens,Genesis, Emerson,Lake and Palmer, and John Denver too.

This beautiful hymn was written by two men who were gone from this world before the height of the civil rights movement in America and the peaceful direct action movement led by Martin Luther King, but this song has come to be called the "black national anthem" and is associated now with MLK day, coming up the 16th of this month. I like this version from Women of the Calabash, a breakout project of Bernice Johnson Reagon (Sweet Honey in the Rock).

Lift every voice and sing
