That sounds like quite a gathering, and fun!
4th of July is not one of those holidays when I want to be out among the drunks. I did go to a friend's pool party for a little while, took some avocados as a food offering, but didn't stay long.
My neighborhood was strangely quiet last night. I don't know if it's just San Antonio, but for a fireworks holiday, such as New Years, 4th July or Fiesta, you'll hear fireworks "rehearsals" for several days before the real day. It gets ridiculous, but it's kind of fun too. Anyway this time there were the rehearsals intermittently since last week, but maybe three minutes of fireworks last night.
