I don't remember ever having fall break, even in high school or college, other than the usual 4-day weekend for Thanksgiving, but the old movie (a fave vintage horror) "City of the Dead" (UK Title) or "Horror Hotel" (US title) depicted a college student studying witchcraft, using her fall break to go to a fictional spooky New England town to study the history of covens and witch burning there. So maybe fall break depends on where you live.

Now spring break, yah, that's a thing.
