Aw Wolfie, of course we planned a birthday bash for you for today, an event to remember, but we don't want it without you here, well and able to participate in your own party, so we'll plan to see you on Saturday. For now, just focus on getting well.

Best wishes for full recovery from your friends @SnapDragon NY , @Jimi , @gopher_byrd , Bliss Doubt and the ninjas.

I guess the Lord must be in New York City

Precious Lord
-James Baldwin

Baldwin, American author, 1924-1987, was sick of living in America where he felt he loved the land and the people with a love that would never be extended to him as a black man, and as a gay man, so he moved to France. There he met with David Lynx and Pierre Van Dormael, who convinced him to record some of his poetry, pointing to artists like Jack Kerouac, Bob Dorough and others who were doing it successfully. This CD, "A Lovers Question" is the result of that collaboration with Lynx and Van Dormael.

Good thing for today (really should be "these days").

I have a paper towel roller in the kitchen, above the dish draining rack. I wouldn't ever buy anything like that, but it was there when I moved in.

Back when I was battling ants, maybe a year ago or so, I'm not sure, I would think I was rid of them, but the hold-outs hid in the paper towels. I guess they eat paper when there's nothing else. I would pull down a few sheets but leave them attached to the roll, and sprinkle the sheets with oil of bay leaf. I still used them when I was sure those few sheets weren't harboring any ants.

In the mean time I put a clean cotton dish towel over the dish rack, also sprinkled with oil of bay, and used that to dry my washed hands.

So after eventually getting through that roll of paper towels, once I was completely sure there were no more ants hiding anywhere, I came to the end of the roll and put up a new roll, but the habit is now entrenched, using the dish towel instead of paper towels.

So now I hardly ever use paper towels at all, a new, now entrenched habit that cuts costs and saves trees.
