You have to take the work in the heat in short periods then get some shade and drink water. I also have a cloth hat that I dunk in water that keeps my noggin cool.

It says to hand wash, but I never believe stuff like that. Hand wash 100 percent cotton? Give me a break.

I have half a dozen pure cotton bucket hats in various colors, including one that lives in my tote and one that lives in my luggage. Throw them in the laundry, flatten them immediately when they come out of the dryer. Easy, comfy.

Even if it shrinks a little bit, get it soaking wet and give it a good pull in all directions, or soak it and hang it sideways, and the brim seam will stretch itself under the weight of the water.

I gave one to my boss at the old brick & mortar when she got a bad sunburn on her nose. She loved it.

New computer is up in Windows at least. Freaking Windows setup is a royal pain in the arse. It takes forever. Today we convene to celebrate the birthday of our dear friend and playmate with fun, food and music. @gopher_byrd, you are summoned by @2WhiteWolves, @SnapDragon NY, @Jimi, our new friend @gloopdegurp, Bliss and the Ninjas, to your birthday party.

What better party venue can there be for a California gopher than a beautiful seaside golf course. Whoa Goph, you can have a ball digging this up. We leased the whole thing for the day.

On the table is a collection of award winning California wines:



Surprise! This song comes in around 25 versions with various names, none with the name Gopher or Goph obviously, so this is as close as we could come. If you read the name on the ball backwards, maybe it will make more sense?

Food, drink and ice are in the picnic gazebo near the pro shop.



Unseen is another gazebo on the grounds, the bandstand, where bands will play all day, kind of like Lilith Fair only better.

For the "both and" guy, we have more than just a cake. You have options, baby, lots of them, a vanilla buttercream cake (flavorful vape candles included), Wolfie's freshly baked s'mores casserole, plus some patriotic cake pops and jello shots to recognize your civic engagement and service to your community.




For lunch and snacks we have DIY steak sandwiches of fresh sourdough bread, sliced New York strip, crisp toppings, all as you prefer. Also provided is rich basil pesto for those who want vegan sandwiches using the veggies. On the side are oven steak fries and grilled corn. We have crispy shrimp tacos with freshly made guacamole. Or the guacamole and salsa can go on your sandwich. The only food rule today is what? "Both and".
