Been a busy day today but got some maters canned, had 2 quarts break in the pressure cooker but still have 9 quarts and a pint. Got them coolin out of any draft now but when they are done I'll try to remember to take a pic.

I finally bought a Dubai chocolate bar. It's been all the hype among foodies over the last couple of years. I've looked at it a long time, but skipped it because it's always godawful expensive.

It's made of a paste of pistachio butter and tahini, mixed with shredded cooked fillo pastry to make it slightly crunchy, all enrobed in chocolate.

15.00 for a 7 oz. bar, yeesh. But curiosity finally got the best of me. I bought it for cheat day tomorrow, but opened it up and had a piece as soon as I got it home. It's good, not great, unusual but doesn't rock my world. I'll enjoy the rest of it tomorrow, but won't buy it again. A Ritter dark chocolate marzipan bar is about half the price per ounce, and, IMO, much better.

Aw, I'm sorry you lost the 2 quarts. Do they commonly break in the cooker like that? Watching my grandma, uncles and aunties can things (like figs with lemon slices yumm), I never saw that happen, but I don't think they used a pressure cooker. Just simmering water on the stove.

Thank you I hate to see any go to waste but...
It does happen with pressure cookers but the maters anymore don't carry the acids they used too, at least not the ones I grew but they taste so good, so to be safe they new cannin books call for pressure, I still water bath some.
