Michael Lang was only 24 when he co-founded Woodstock. His involvement in the music industry extends beyond the festival. He has managed various artists throughout his career, including Joe Cocker, and worked on numerous other music festivals and events. Here Michael is pictured with Ticia Agri his production assistant. Michael passed away three years ago on January 8, 2022. He is greatly missed but his spirit lives on and is celebrated every August.
John Roberts and Joel Rosenman had the capital, Artie Kornfeld had the experience, industry credibility, and connections, and Michael was boots on the ground, a one man trouble truck dispatched 100 times a day to snuff out every brush fire. On horseback or bike, he seemed to be everywhere at once. Rest in Peace Michael, your legacy is celebrated once again this year.
