Ok gonna be weird for a moment

No photo description available.

I want this bathtub so badly, these big deep tubs are a blessing from the Lord.
I'd even settle for a few good soaks

I'm a big fan of rich colored tile work too Jimi. Before my landlord finally had my bathtub refinished, I was considering buying stick-on tiles and doing something like this image I saved. They come on mesh in 6 inch squares. I kept looking for all dark blue, none of the lighter and turquoise pieces. I wouldn't have counted on peeling and sticking, but ModPodge paste is unbelievable. I have used it to replace caulk, to paint tile grout, all sorts of things.

The rest of my bathroom has the original tile work in something close to those colors.

But I was afraid if the landlord didn't care enough to remove the rust around the tub drain, it would get worse, and one day I would crash through to the basement.

I have a new ninja self. I forget what I was searching for on Ebay, but stumbled onto this Edo era Japanese ninja hood made of chain mail. I used a pic from about 5 years ago, so already it's not the current me, and I had to do so much photo editing to shove my head into the hood, it barely even looks like me anymore, and then, how to I get my shoulders back? So I guess it has a giraffe neck. But it's for fun.

Hymn to Love
-Edith Piaf

Written by Piaf for her husband, boxer Marcel Cerdan, who died in an Air France crash while on his way home. She had it on several of her albums, and sang it in a movie.

If the sky should fall into the sea
And the stars fade over me
For the times that we have known here
I will sing a hymn to love

We have lived and dreamed, we two alone
In a world that seemed our very own
With the memories, ever grateful
Just for you, I'll sing a hymn to love

I remember each embrace
The smile that lit your face
And my heart begins to sing
Your arms, the hands secure
Your eyes that said, "I'm sure"

Those who love will live eternally
In the blue, where all is harmony
With my voice raised high to Heaven
Just for you, I'll sing a hymn to love

I guess it's music history day.

I have two loves
-Josephine Baker

Written by Baker over the torn heart of a black person born in the US in the era between the Emancipation Proclamation and the civil rights movement, when living in this country wasn't a nice experience. She sailed to France, where she enjoyed brilliant success and fame as an entertainer, married there, became a French citizen, and worked for Le Maquis (the French Resistance) during the advance of Hitler's Third Reich. Baker was later awarded the Resistance Medal and the Croix de Guerre. She adopted 12 children, and called them her "Rainbow Tribe". Baker often returned to the US to perform, but refused to perform before segregated audiences.

She wrote of witnessing racial violence in East St. Louis at the age of 11:

I can still see myself standing on the west bank of the Mississippi looking over into East St. Louis and watching the glow of the burning of Negro homes lighting the sky. We children stood huddled together, frightened to death with the screams of the Negro families running across this bridge with nothing but what they had on their backs as their worldly belongings. So with this vision I ran and ran and ran.

They say that across the sea, far away under the clear sky,
There is a city where enchanted journeys await.
And under the tall black trees, every evening,
All my hopes fly to her.

I have two loves
My country and Paris
Because of them, always
My heart is ruptured.
My land is beautiful
But why deny it?
What enchants me
Is Paris, all of Paris
To see it is my dream
I have two loves
My country and Paris

Jimi, I'm so glad you're feeling better today.

MVR was down part of yesterday too, but if you're saying it wouldn't recognize you, then did you forget your password or something?
