@Jimi just a thought that ran through me head. It's probably a stupid one, but going to say it anyways.

Have you or Jean consider phoning protective services or doing a welfare/wellness check on the children? By just phoning the cops saying you are concerned about the children. You know say that you see them running around without supervision, something of the sort, as you see it, I cannot.

This is how my bro was able to get full custody of his son. He phoned the sheriff in the county where she lived. They went to do the welfare/wellness check and she was still drunk/drugged up in the morning. The sheriff immediately took nephew, drove to sheriff's station and phoned bro to come get him. It was the longest 3 hrs of a drive to get to my nephew. At least we knew he was finally safe !!

It just might scare them enough to maybe watch their ps and qs. Idk, just a thought.

As @gopher_byrd and @SnapDragon NY , with security cameras, definitely, if you are able to afford even a cheap security system, to get evidence, it's well worth the money.

Also, scary in these situations, no matter trying to scare them with the Traps, talking with them, whatever is the case, you and Jean do not know what they are capable of doing and that's a scary thought.

Just as my ex sis in law. She tried to get us arrested for illegal drugs. She had dropped a sack of p o t on our driveway. I saw and went out there, but couldn't stop them. Than a delivery person or trash man was pulling up, he stopped, I asked him if wanted it, and he said yes, lol. Just one example of her doing something stupid.
Yeah that's a good idea about the child welfare thing, I think they have a letter type name for it too makes it sound more scarry to them.
