Daniel Johnston was a beloved Austin singer/songwriter. His sound was simple, naive, sincere. He was mentally disabled from the time when kids were given electroshock therapy to cure them of m@rijuana use. He lived with his mother all his life, until he died at age 58.

It's difficult to find an honest history of Daniel Johnston's life, but in his heyday, friends who were close to him spoke of it. I used to throw that at my mum, when she got concerned about "things" she found in my brothers' bedroom. "Do you know they used to give shock therapy to "cure" kids of MJ use? It was like an electroconvulsive lobotomy. Can't you just let it go? You're not finding anything dangerous under the mattresses."
