Joyetech eVic VT 60 Watt, variable temp by Joyetech, can be used with nickel 200 and titanium coil by Joyetech.
I'm new to this and I'm looking for my first box mod and considering the Joyetech but what is the difference between nickel and titanium coils? All these coil options is confusing the heck out me. I just want something simple that I don't need to be switching back and forth with different coils.
Just several months ago, regulated devices (mods), started supporting controlling the temperature. At first, it was nickel wire only, due to the extreme change of resistance when the wire is heated. Improvements in the electronics allowed controlling temperature next with Ti (titanium) wire. However, people (including myself), were uneasy of using Ni200 or Ti wire, so SS (stainless steel) was introduced. These mods have 3-4 modes, that you can easyly switch to, depending on the coil. Kanthal wire can be used in power mode only, Ni, and Ti, in there specific mode. SS coils can be used in power mode, or in TC mode, if the mod has this feature.
if you do buy the vt, i'd pass on the tank
Pass on the Tron tank Skeene? Was also looking at the Kanger Subox, so it's a toss up between the 2. I honestly, don't need all those options, just wanting to go from a pen style to my first box mod and have a nice unit that puts out decent vapor.
The Tron tank is an Ego One Mega "re-envisioned", so essentially yes, it is exactly the same. The biggest problem still comes from the coils, they just SUCK! PERIOD!
Literally any other tank will be better than the Ego One line of tanks (Mega, Tron, Tron S).It's a shame that Joyetech married the Mega and Trons with the VT and VTC Mini, they are both great mods, but just came with lousy tanks. Like @skeene said, you can get the mod, just don't buy the kit (they sell the mod separately) and get a better tank to put on it (Crown, Triton, SubTank, or whatever suits your fancy) and you'll be good to go
That is pretty sexy I must say, never seen the light blue O-rings before, perfect match!
That's another thing, all these different tanks, RDA, RBA, Sub Ohm, all these different coils, SS, titanium, nickel blah blah blah..I get an anxiety attack looking and trying to figure this all out, makes lighting a ciggy way to easy. Going from a Kanger Evod pen style, this is way too crazy confusing LOL!

So ummm you're asking about temp control, that specific mod, or the different toppers?
If someone were to ask what wire was best for tc, I would strongly suggest using SS; and, making sure the mod had that ability.
The mod you pictetes does not.
SS will work with tc and non tc.
An RDA is alos what we call a dripper. There is no tank, you drop liquid directly onto the coil.
An RBA is anything with posts for you to build your own coil.
Sub ohm,is the act of vaping below one ohm

I think I'm one of the few people on the planet that likes the Ego Mega tank. I use one on my IPD D2 with the titanium coils and it's one of my favorite stealth vapes and nice break from all the sub ohm monsters.
Don't over think it too much. It sounds like you aren't ready for temp control yet (I'm only just trying it and I've been vaping for years) so you don't need to worry about all the coils and such. If I was in your place coming from an evod I'd start with an istick 30w or even 100w if you think in the future you'll want to play with more options.
You may want to go to a local vape shop to check out tanks, but I'd start with a kanger subtank first. There is better on the market but these have a ton of different coil options in different ohms. Then you can experiment and find your sweet spot. There's always time to buy more later, play with other options, etc.
What matters is that it's easy and more enjoyable than lighting one up. Take your time to learn, research your options and safety. One step at a time
I love my evic vt so that works as well. I don't know anything about the topbox personally
