Star Wars: The Force Awakens filmmaker J.J. Abrams has opened up about what went wrong with his previous movie, Star Trek Into Darkness.
Speaking with BuzzFeed, Abrams said he takes full responsibility for the film's flaws. "Any movie, any story has a fundamental conversation happening during it," he said. "There’s a fundamental argument; there’s a central question. And I didn’t have it
."
For example, Abrams states that the relationship between Kirk and Spock was a bit muddy compared to the first film. "What was their issue? What was their dynamic? What was their problem? And it wasn’t really clear," he said.
