I only dabble with them for DTL in a VC Shift tank. GTX .2 dual mesh and VC Tech coil .2 are my favorites.
Xros pods shelved all my MTL rebuildables though.

They work.
It's much easier to carry one.
No pants on fire if you put your keys and/or change in the same pocket.
No eliquid stained shirt and pants from trying to drip it into the RDA
This seems like a better option to me.

Mechs are still on the rotation but strictly at home for the exact reasons you mentioned. I sat on my ātailleurā once and the Purge Slam was in my pocket. Inadvertently, I sat just on the pocketā¦
I heard a kind of āpssshhhiiiitā from the garment and realized that it was the mech firing. I BARELY had the time to extract it from my pocket and unscrew the bottomā¦ To this day I still donāt know what inspired me to unscrew the thingā¦
But it was the right thing to do as the firing ālamelleā was bent and was hitting the bottom part to put current to the RBA. There was no way to unbent it in time , the batt would have exploded in my faceā¦
I still thank God, Lady Luck or The Great Pumpkin for the inspirationā¦.
