There's been a real shift in Fox's approach to the X-Men franchise lately. Both Deadpool and Logan offered more standalone superhero stories rather than the massive, team-focused adventures fans are used to. And based on Logan's early box office success, it's clear X-fans are pretty keen on this standalone approach.
With that in mind, we imagine Fox will want to keep building new standalone and spin-off X-Men films even as they chart a new path for the franchise that doesn't involve Hugh Jackman's Wolverine.
