Spotted Dick is vile suet putting with sultanas and raisins......however......EVERYTHING is better with custard! (Bird's is better). Mum used to make Spotted for the family in odd months...she hated us so. Now, Selkirk bannocks with treacle? OH YES.
I agree about the custard. But the Bird's is hard to make. The directions are a little off? Maybe UK tablespoons are different.

Hope you're feeling better @Just Me. Great news about your son!

Good morning all you fabulous freaks. :)

In Florida this morning! Damn! It was 57 this morning. I'll have to take a coat with me to work tonight.
34* here when I got up. High of 60 and sunny. Perfect! Alternating between reg universe and here-just to keep my sanity intact-Recommended reading

Well thanks! I feel bad I've only got the one to give LOL
I wonder why more people don't do it? Maybe I can inspire some more to give theirs.

maybe cause they have to lay you open like a fish? and the recuperation time is not very short. they can have all they want when i'm dead, but i am hanging onto everything i've got while alive.....except my hair. but i admire you for doing it. but please do lots of research first. it's not a walk in the park. :)

Went home on Saturday after working 4 hours. Left work to go to urgent care, waited an hour, finally left and got drunk. Can't refill tramadol until October 17, they only give me like 50 mg one a day. I've been taking one every six hours so I am able to get out of bed.

So I went through my month supply in like 10-14 days. Regular pain clinics won't take me. Clinics say go to obgyn. Obgyn says oh u need a specialist. And never call back with my referral. Wtf am I to do in the meantime? Go to ER at 3 am again???

What did they say at the ER on your last visit, just gave you meds & say go home? I would have said no....you all did that the last time, admit me and get me someone to look at me that will help me with my problems.!!!GRRRRRR

Morning @m3rma1d glad to see you made it through you're weekend okay, or at least better than the lobster's... ;)
They won't take mine, will actually probably give me one at some point to do damage caused by seizure medications, and now the daily pain peds.
They won't even take my blood anymore. I failed the pre-donation questionaire before graduating college... was the only test I've failed in my entire life!

Making some calls to get the ball rolling on donating my kidney! Have talked with a possible recipient all weekend. And if he doesn't work out, I've got eleventy billion more people messaging me thru the registry site. It's getting kinda heartbreaking the amount of messages... My blood type makes me universal, but I've obviously only got one to spare!
I am truly speechless! So many things to say about this, and about YOU. Your level of compassion and character are inspirational and I am TRULY blessed to know you.

ok i read up a little on the kidney donation thing. it's a series of small incisions now instead of a huge one. but the recovery time is still quite long, and you have to be off work for awhile. not many people can do that. donating is a very giving gesture tho, and i applaud it.

Had a strange feeling this morning on the way to work. My Grandmother called it "Sehen Sie die Zukunft", Seeing the future. Something bad was going to happen and it did, a semi jackknifed right in front of me, I managed to drive into the ditch and avoid the mess. A bunch of drivers were not so fortunate, bad mess. Thank God for 4WD 1 Ton pickups.

Well, awwww....thx hun. :D

Just been busy with stuff and watching sports, then kind of got bored of posting. Hasn't been very much to mention going on.

Got some DIY vapemail today though, so thought I'd post it. :)
Hi Caff! Guess you'll be doing more of that tonight since your team is on.

That's some scary stuff Zam! So glad you were able to avoid it.

mmmm, just finished a mammoth Nicoise salad! It is highly unusual for me to eat solid food, but this was SAVAGE!!
Yes, had to google what that salad is comprised of. Sounds intense.

Besides the fact that after I looked up that salad all I could think about was how it would be one of my "only if I were starving" meals... what exactly do you normally eat, and why?

I really like that Aspire, but damn the heads are pricey compared to my 'ol PT1 heads. Still rockin' the carto tank too, still on that same carto it came with. Did some reading on how to use the fill port as a carburetor when it gets dry...fun. ;-)
