ok fuck it i'm going back to borderlands presequel, stopped for a while because i was underarmed and it was getting insane but that's a sure fire boredom killer ;<))
Okay... I have to ask, and sorry if it is rude but you've mentioned your drinking in the past... the detox you are working on right now... is it to stop drinking or just a body cleanse?

Either way, I commend you for sticking to it and hope you enjoy your Borderlands.

Yeah, I've never felt more ignored in my life. The guy is a train wreck without any impulse control.

What puzzles me, is how he is from England...but clearly was at a loss as to what the VERY COMMON phrase "Banging on" means.

Yeah, I think I finally hit my personal boredom threshold. That and I realized that I got sucked into the same sort of crap that I created the thread to end.

Bad me! Bad me!

Both. Not rude at all. I'm the one who keeps bringing it up. Don't mean to make you guys my support group. lol. You can't do a cleanse while drinking, but also I tend to get carried away with the drinking and have to check myself, so the cleanse is a good excuse for me to go on the wagon for a while. So really the answer to your question is both.

I thought so, just wanted to be sure before I told you that I was glad you are sticking with it, particulary during this time of year. Don't be afraid to let us give you support. We all support each other in the AU ;) Even if some of us are fighting aliens in space while gasping for air as our guns go off randomly due to a bad controller LOL

I have to be honest and say that I think that one of the reasons that I like spending so much time here is because the interaction and familiarity helps my memory and helps with some of the sadness that I experience IRL when I don't remember simple things and keep losing stuff around the house, like my cane and the cup of soda that I was drinking and took to the kitchen and then went to pour more into it to find it missing and then discover it a couple of days later someplace that I don't remember going...

I appreciate that. Last year I spent the entire winter sober. I can handle it in the summer when I'm sweating it all out while I'm cooking ribs on a grill or whatever, but in the winter it all just remains inside and builds up day after day until I start to feel sick. I had a good drunk on New Years Day and that's the way I like to start the wagon train--not waiting until I fuck up and then going into it all morbid, but with one last happy party so that it begins on an upbeat. Then I know I'm doing it by conscious choice not as the result of guilt or something.

The controller was especially bad tonight. At times the square button wouldn't even work so I couldn't even loot crates. I know that a friend of mine bought me a new controller for my birthday but she refuses to give it to me until Saturday. She's blackmailing me. I have to go to an event that she's part of if I want my gift. Lol.

I like this place too. I don't have to pretend to be something I'm not and that's healthy.

Sounds like you have it down to a routine huh? It's good that you recognize the impact that the season has on your body and are not addicted to the level of it being a forced/unhealthy detox. I'm sure that being able to pop in and just announce it is helpful as well. It's like a release mechanism. I know that sometimes it's like that grunt that helps lift something heavy. It's just a sound, but it's like a trigger to the body to dig just a little bit deeper and overcome.

How many days are you into your detox and how much longer do you have to go?

I think today is the seventh day. I've been doing the bentonite every morning but I cheated the other day when I made a six pound shoulder of pork in the crock pot over night and just couldn't resist trying it out (you can't mix the clay with food). As far as the not drinking part of the detox, I'm hoping for a few months at least. That in itself does wonders for me. I lose a big part of the belly, my thinking becomes clearer, I just feel healthier in general. But I never say never, because that's when shit happens. If I'm going to start drinking again, I'd prefer it be on my own terms, a conscious decision, rather than some random falling off the wagon in which I gulp down a fifth just to spite the world and then go and crash a car or something. I don't mean to be so cavalier about alcoholism but it's true, when you've dealt with it as long as I have, it boils down to a science.

we are at 0 now,,,,beginning the plunge to 15 below by morning
I still have no working furnace.. Remember when that went bad? Like in the first week of November? The insurance co made me be the claims adjuster, take the pics, do the write up, call the experts, etc, and STILL denied the claim! I raised such a hell that they finally paid for one to come out, and he sided with me :).. He even used my write-up and pics over again and resent them to them. He said it was all done and explained better than he could have done  So, that was last week. Today I get word that they will, in fact, approve the claim - yeah! But, now its so damn cold, theres snow on the ground, and, due to the wifes schedule, I cant have the guys out 'till next week to do the work. :(

My wood stove is the main heat for the 30's and above, with the furnace suppose to supplement it (or vise versa, depending) when its really cold, so, at the -10 it is right now, I have 3 space heaters and the wood stove going full blast and its barely keeping 65f in the house... And the chemo makes the wife really sensitive to the cold. Like electric shocks.. And she got some kind of ear/sinus infection that makes her whole upper right side hurt badly and lymph nodes swell, also caused by the chemo (no white blood cells or neutrophils).. In fact, I saw it while it was happening - She was right at the end of her last IV of chemo, before the take home pump was put on, when the right side of her neck and face, and right ear, went all red/rashy. It lasted for about 5-6 mins then went away. The nurse said it prolly a histamine reaction, or she was scratching. Well, she wasnt scratching and never had a histamine reaction to chemo before, but who knows? However, about an hour later she started complaining of pain in her ear and right neck, then arm pit, and I put 2 and 2 together. She's on a Zpac atm, and taking Neupogen, but this cold aint helping..

My heart goes out to you and your wife I will pray things improve for you both fast, I am stunned at how these insurance companies can be so heartless in situations as yours I wish you all the best and hope you get that furnace install VERY soon. These temps are nothing to mess with. Your in my thoughts Midnite.

So do you have a specific trigger, or group of trigger's that tend to kick things off after a while?

How long have you been vaping? If you just started this year, maybe getting more involved in rebuilding would help give you something to focus your energies and attention on. I suck at rebuilding and I'm a bit of a perfectionist so rebuilding one addy right now can take me an hour LOL

the back has magnets, but they aren't that strong. everything else seems to be ok, while i'm not a fan of adjustable 510 pins, this one ain't bad. it even says "full battery" when charged.

Indiana.. Too be honest, it wasnt really a problem until the temps went close to, and below, zero. the stove just cant keep up with that cold of temps as it was meant to work with the furnace, not replace it. Just really pisses me off that they played 'the game' until it got this cold. Had they been quicker by 7-10 days, I could have had the thing replaced by now.

Of course, I could have had it replaced my self if the wife wasnt sick.. just her Neupogen shots alone have a co-pay of $900+ a week  (down from a street price of $4500!)
