Introducing The Hex Mod, Mark I, a stylish and innovative high performance mod from the team of Briant Lam and Jeff Cabebe. Designed and manufactured in the San Francisco Bay Area, The Hex was engineered with uncompromising reliability, safety and performance in mind while introducing several innovative features.
Performance
The Hex is constructed of lead-free 464 Naval brass, chosen for its favorable electrical and mechanical properties. Milled from a solid piece of brass, The Hex features a 510 connection machined directly into the body of the mod in a single-piece top cap and body configuration for maximum conductivity. A self-adjusting, silver plated brass floating center pin on a Teflon insulator allows atomizers to sit flush on The Hex, providing full battery compatibility and superior thermal characteristics.
Innovation
The firing button sits flush with the housing, which hides the most innovative feature of The Hex, a fundamental change to the mod button mechanics. Instead of a single coil spring or magnets, the return mechanism of the button utilizes three individual micro power spring jacks, which provide high rated current capabilities, increased conductivity, and a smooth and reliable one mm throw. Each of the three spring jacks is rated to run 9 amps of continuous current for a total of 27 amps, providing plenty of headroom for even the most demanding of vapers. Since no one is going to hold the button down continuously, you can consider this rated for 54 amps if you vape 50% on and 50% off, e.g. 10 seconds on and 10 seconds off. There are additional conduction paths besides the springs along the circumference of the button and cap, much like the concept behind magnetic button mods, which furthers the conduction rating. A silver plated firing pin further enhances the conductivity to the battery. Furthermore, the battery adjustment is built directly into the button – thread it into the mod until tight – providing simple and effortless operation.
The Future
The Hex Mark I is tentatively priced at $230 MSRP and will be distributed by All Day Vapes, a one stop retail distributor of vaping products and accessories.
