I would think you close off vents so it doesn't get in there and block up the vent. You didn't say you wanted the exact R value which is what you just posted. Crawl space and basements should have closed cell foam, not sure about the attic though. Maybe clossd cell, but i could be wrong. I admit i have to do more studying though.
