Dont change your MTU settings... Win7/8 is automatic anyways..

ok. i should add that it doesn't matter if i am no my laptop at home or at work (different isp's), still can't get past the first login page. this is what i get after i enter my login:

The connection was interrupted

The connection was interrupted while the page was loading.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

its a dell and i got it with win7 cause i hate win8
OK.. Did you do all the updates? This most likely has to do with a security certificate. So, make sure all your Win updates are done. You also need the most up to date browser version of which ever one you are using. If still no go, then add the site to 'Compatibility View' in IE11 and try again. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11 If that still doesnt work, try adding the site to the 'Trusted Sites' list: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/967897

Off to make the rounds to all the buildings shoveling snow. Good luck with the computer, kelli, hope you get it worked out. Talk to everyone later.

Oh.. @kelli .. Forgot to say, make sure your Time and Date are correct too.. This will mess with the Security Certificate.

ok i will try that stuff when i get home. thanks :)
well maybe don't, because apparently they want you to download some program to change your MTU settings and I never completely trust that sort of crap. I know you can change the MTU manually without any type of program. What you would set it to is a different story. I don't want you downloading and installing something I have never used myself. Let me see if I can find out anything else about the MTU settings first.

Try the stuff I posted earlier.. Also, make sure your Silverlight and Flash, as well as .NET are updated as well. Your bank could be using 'super cookies'.

@kelli Does your bank have a "mobile" website address? If so, try connecting just to see if it works or not. I saw that written in a help thing somewhere. No clue if it would make any difference or not.

I hazard a guess and say it is stuck in the Blackhole that is Opa-Locka USPS Distribution Center.. It'll eventually time-warp out.
I'm not laughing at that 'cause it's so god damn true. I'm a 20 minute drive on sr 826 from that sorting facility,
especially early in the morning when they cruise up this way. Sometimes it takes them days to get from there to my PO. That's even with 2 day priority. Took 'em over a week once.
Customer service says to me, " Well, Sir. 2 Day Priority Service doesn't mean it will be delivered in 2 days"
I could walk there even..I'm getting to where I consider paying UPS the 8 bucks., at least their tracking is real
and if they say they're coming with the goods they do.

<---- Tech Geek

tried that. even contacted the bank, and they have no solution. guess i will just have to do my banking on my phone or pc. very annoying tho.

Most banks have security that requires special handling the first time with a new computer. Their software has to confirm the computer. I think that is it.

What Bank?

Yeah, If you can log on via phone, ruling out bank site being down, I think bank security despite what first person at bank said. I would call again and second person may have better advice... I'd ask specifically about authenticating a new pc.

I have known quite a few people who owned VW's throughout my life, including modern ones of several different models, and 100% of them have had tranny problems.

VW's are notorious for having tranny problems and one of the worst service records every year.

Here is JD Powers 2015 rankings sorted by powertrain ratings:

http://ratings.jdpower.com/automoti...ndex.htm?sortBy=Powertrain Dependability desc
Where they automatic or manual?

The one we're looking at is manual because we have heard the automatic transmissions have problems. I have not had problems with mine (its automatic) since I got it in 2004. It has 106,000 miles so that's why we are looking to buy a manual this time in case the automatic starts having problems

Hey I saw this free trial for Renew Ecigs but I've never tried them. They're only $5 but figured I'd ask around and see if anyone's tried them. REMOVED

It's SPAM, Dear. If you get an email similar to the post, and you will.
Don't bother. You'll get spammed into a recurring subscription deal.
Yea, they'll send ya a free cig and charge you $79+/mo for juice cartridges.
Then you'll spend months trying to get them to stop charging your card.

Back in the woodwork. I have a stalker ;)
