Hi Hazyshades and many thanks for the info. I'll let you know how I get on, but it's good to know what you've told me. I just hope the tests will be able to find out what the problem is. Time will tell.

Thx... you must be using auto-correct for spelling... ;)

ETA -- just wanted to add: I just updated my WTA article, to include info about my 15 month weaning and cessation from it.

Hi Andria,
Just read your article - wonderful stuff. Explains why I'm napping 3 hours a day and sleeping 8 hours at night. Not sure if I can order that from Canada. Do you know of any suppliers in Canada where I might buy some? I'm going to call my local one, but they have nothing about WTA's on their website.

Sorry, I don't know anything about Canadian vendors. I don't know about mothersmilkwta, but I think Aroma probably ships internationally -- but I'd definitely try mothersmilkwta.com first just to see, their prices are so much better. There may be some UK vendors who sell it, which might give canadian customs less of a problem.

Hi Andria,
Decided to just work through it; it's going to be hard, this weekend is the 3 week mark. Figure if I made it past 3 days, and if I can make it past this 3 week mark, then I can do it. Like the story, of the "Little red engine that could." Coincidentally enough, considering I am a 'little red injun'... Oh geez, hard to quit the colonialist tobacco. I think I can, I know I can...

The first time around that I quit with vaping, I didn't use WTA.... had no cravings, though I did get a little depressed around the 3wk and 3mo points -- but it passed, both times, within a week.

I only used WTA when I came back from my dual-use relapse because of the godawful cravings I was having; I don't think they were really about wanting to smoke, because I really DID NOT, but because of my appendectomy/IBS and the general mayhem going on in my gut -- apparently some of those alkaloids help that situation a lot.

I hear you! Even now, it's not easy. I still crave a cigarette, but really don't want to smoke. Sorry to read you had to go through surgery. That's not easy, and I would have started smoking, too. When I had a near total hysterectomy (still have egg-makers) I had not smoked for 3 days. As soon as I got home from the hospital though, I lit up. Satisfaction! It's exactly 3 weeks for me now on vaping only. After reading your article on your website, I keep telling myself, 'just get through this, next milestone is at 3 months'. It helps a LOT. Even contacted my local supplier, and they had never even heard of WTA. Suggested he look it up, might be something they want to look into as perhaps the only Canadian supplier. Did find a source from south of the border who would ship to me here, but I want to stick it out, and see how that works.
Thanks for all your help, and your website! Lots of great information there.

Hi All.

I promised I would let you know how I'm progressing with my issue of tiredness, so here it is.

My Doctor arranged an appointment with a lung specialist which I attended yesterday. After checking my general breathing he provided me with a small device that I had to sleep connected to. I had to have a small plastic tube at the entrance to my nose and a sensor on my forefinger, both of which were connected to the machine which was a similar size to a cellphone. I took the machine back to the Specialist this morning and he downloaded the data from it to his PC. So, it turns out that I am suffering from moderate to severe sleep apnea. I saw the graphs on the screen and they showed I was stopping breathing on average 36 times an hour whilst I was sleeping, (only breaths held for longer than 10 seconds were recorded.)
He said that breath holding when asleep is quite common but I was doing it to excess, big style. There is a reliable treatment for the condition which involves using equipment designed to keep airways open, the details of which I won't bore you with, but at least I can now see a light at the end of the tunnel. :bliss:

....back to vaping:
I said earlier in this thread that the reason I came to this forum is because my wife was sure the tiredness was connected to vaping. I didn't think it was but I thought I would alter the pg/vg ratio just to see what happened; it was 60/40 in my shop bought mix. I'm now using 100% vg (3mg nic) mixed with 10% flavour and it seems to be just fine for me.

So that's it from me. Thanks again for all your help.

Vape on!
